One of the advantages with running a bigger blower is running a bigger upper pulley for less belt slip. You don't have to spend the blowers as fast or as hard to get the same power(air volume) as the smaller blowers.

I personally was going to go with a 3.6kb, but was given a heck of a deal on a TT setup.

With that said while HPP was building the TT kit on my car, the owner(Manny) did the 3.6kb setup. I think he said he was running a 4" pulley.

If the belt/tensioner system is designed correctly a big diameter pulley is not needed. I've run all sorts of stuff down to 2.60" while running the blowers at over 19,000rpm and had zero belt slip issues.

A larger pulley can be used as a band aid for an incorrectly thought out belt/ tensioner arrangement though. It won't fix all of the problems like bottoming tensioners but it will reduce belt slip.

Correct. I would rather slightly under spin a big blower than slightly over spin a small blower. That said there is a point you get to where there is simply too much blower in play and it will run out the bottom of it's efficiency range.

How different is the drivability with a PD blower vs stock. I have a manual trans and will be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour or so every morning. I had a cam in my 5th gen car built by another manufacturer and it wasn't much fun in that kind of traffic. Not that sitting in traffic is fun. I really had to slip to clutch to keep it from stalling. I'm wondering if I will have to do that with this car to keep from blowing the tires off of her every time I let out on the clutch. (Maybe slight exaggeration) I'm looking at getting the Whipple 2.9. Any help would appreciated.

The driveability will come down to the tuner

If you have someone good tuning your car, It's going to run great

I think Ford Racing/Roush is the only one with a warranty. Any of them will pop a stock block.

That shouldn't happen with a proper safe tune. Unless maybe you are going for 700-800rwp and abusing the Sh*t out of it. But for example a basic 550rwhp setup with a good and safe tune should have no problems.

I'd be interested in exploring this a bit further. What will fail first when approaching the limits? Cracked block/cylinder? Crank? Connecting rods? Pistons?

it's a few hundred extra

You should have a HO system or Stage 2 ProCharger.
Why wait, when you can fly now. ;) Just saying.

Can't post about it yet, since the owner is on this forum. However a stock car with a ProCharger HO system just laid down over 700rwhp. Not even the stage 2 kit. This HO system is continuing to be a rocking bang for buck system!

Your best warranty is to go with a good tuner.
