The Camaro is on its way out and the new car is coming, so not surprising. I expect the new Camaro to pwn the Mustang when the new one comes out in a year or so. (yes, I just said pwn).

Agreed. Camaro has sold better than Mustang for some time. Fine with me, if everyone buys Mustangs then who would I pwn in races?

The king is back on top. Those are GREAT numbers for January. Can't wait to see 10K+ months when the rest of the country thaws out.

This didn't happen with the 2014 Mustang did it? I don't recall seeing numbers drop this far?

LOL @ the new Camaro owning the new Mustang. That is funny right there. I would expect the sales to be about what they were with the previous GEN5 for both platforms. But with the Gen6 Mustang getting a good bit of BMW and other foreign car buyers, I would guess/expect the Mustang to be ahead this time when the Gen6 Camaro comes out. Just my .02.

I think it's way way to early to predict sales numbers for the new Camaro when we haven't even seen the car yet, have numbers in terms of MSRP, engines, weight, fuel economy..nothing.

Gen 5 Camaro production for sure ends late this summer, maybe June but I am unsure.

it's very, very odd how GM is keeping a lid on the Camaro this long.

They've done a good job at it too, with the exception of a few spy photos. I was half expecting to see it drop in Detroit.

As for sales, I don't think either 6th gen cars is going to be "pwning" the other. The last few years of sales the Camaro lead by a few thousand only. Unless they completely drop the ball on the Alpha platform, I'd expect them both to be on par, each trading months.

While that is great news that Ford has sold so many in January, Camaro sales were still up slightly for the month, and Dodge did very well too with the refresh and undoubtedly the press of the Hellcat helped drive customers into showrooms. I hope the sales continue to grow as it would be sad to see the Mustang not outsell an outgoing model, Camaro, that is looking at a new platform next year. Only reason I mention that Camaro sales are up too is it doesn't appear Ford took any sales from GM to reach those numbers.

I think then it will be Dodge's turn to crank up some interest with a new car('Cuda?) or redesign of the Challenger.

Just because Camaro sales were up slightly does not mean the S550 did not steal sales from GM. You are assuming the total number of people looking at either car remained the same. I think it is a safe bet to say they did steal some sales.

It was the best January Mustang sales since 2007. Pretty impressive considering how much more competition is out there now.
