Niagara Falls from the sky

That’s actually Horseshoe Falls. Wonder how it got its name. It is adjacent to Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls would be to the right if the photo was panned out just a little bit. Ironically I’m there right now (Buffalo actually) getting ready for tomorrow’s start of March Madness games.

If you ever see someone using an iPhone in a movie, they are not one of the bad guys. Apple requires as a condition of licensing their products for use in film/TV, that only protagonists are allowed to operate them on camera. I think I should get at least a free Slurpy for being born at 7:11 AM.

To stay true to useless trivia: 7/11 stores were originally named Southland Ice but renamed 7-Eleven in 1947, probably to prevent future robberies by W. W. Bright and the Dixie Dancekings (only first part of trivia positively confirmed).

I wonder how people got to discover it. I mean, did someone, thousands of years ago, see a flower and thought, "if I pluck that little hairy thing from that flower, and from all the other similar flowers from this entire field, then leave them to dry, then chop them finely and sprinkle them on my food, it might taste better"? And somehow he got lucky. He might have picked a completely different flower and ruined his food or got poisoned, but somehow he just happened to pick the right one.

I've always wondered both those foods that if they aren't prepared properly, you die. How many tasters in ancient times croaked before they figured it out?
