I’ve done quite a bit of research on this and I get opposing opinions.
Literally some say use alkaline first others say use acid first.

What is the goal here? For regular washing, you don't (shouldn't) need to use alkaline and acidic soaps. Using a combination of those soaps would be to decon and revive an aged coating or preparing to apply another.

Let's assume you are doing a decon wash to revive or replace a coating. I've used the same products you've listed but added an extra step that I think is worth doing. (Note that Active Foam is actually high-pH/alkaline , not low pH as listed)

1) Carpro IronX (pH neutral) - Apply to the whole car and allow to soak for a few minutes without drying. Iron remover is pH neutral.

2) Koch Chemie Active Foam (Alkaline) - Foam this over the iron remover and allow to further soak. Alkaline chemicals work better at breaking down dirt and oily contamination, which is what you want before physically touching the car. Foaming over the iron remover increases the dwell time of the chemical.

3) Rinse thoroughly.

4) Carpro Descale (Acidic) - Foam then contact wash. Acid leaning soaps removes unseen imbedded mineral deposits. Descale works best with a contact wash rather than a foam and rinse method.

5) Rinse

6) TECH CHOICE 582 - Working panel to panel, mist with 582 and then dry with your towels. The 582 provides lubrication for your towel.

For this type of decon washing, you don't need to use a pH neutral soap like Reset, its an unnecessary step.

I hope that helps.

@DFB5.0 your explanation is always detailed and great.

As i don't have a Foamer i i assume this is the same method for bucket wash correct?

I am old school, do you think i should move up and get a Foamer?

Thanks in advance...

Foaming over the iron remover would indeed need a foam cannon. You can try one of those garden hose foamers if you want to stay simple. Otherwise, apply the iron remover, then rinse with your hose, then commence the bucket washing as outlined.

This is a garden hose foamer, just don't expect shaving cream foam as you need high pressure for that.

Thank you for finding my mistake. I went back and changed it to IPH alkaline..

I have two of those and I also have a high pressure washer from Generac. My experience is with those foam cannons attached to your garden hose Is that there a waste of money and time I don’t remember if I bought mine from Adam’s or House Of Rags. But mine also both of them leaked like crazy so I ended up buying rubber seals and then using a rotary tool to manually grind them down so that it would fit and seal. If for some reason you don’t want a quality gas or maybe electric high-pressure washer another option would be an IK sprayer brand or another brand option:
Marolex is the brand. This is 1 of their models:
Axel 2000 Pressure Foamer 2L
.

Thanks for the feedback. For the difference in price it is not a bad idea.

You may already know this, but just to be clear there is a difference between a sprayer and a Farmer make sure you get what achieve the results you desire.
The difference is a farmer foams your product on, and it tends to stick on the surface longer than a traditional sprayer does because the foam will tend to stay in place whereas the sprayer will spread it on the service and then it immediately runs down so the product dries faster and doesn’t have a chance to work as well as my impression and experience.
So if you buy a specific foamer, there are multiple types some pump with the built-in little pump.
others you can attach a floor pump or a compressor too, and it will probably pump it much faster.
The other option is to buy one that is battery operated already that will give you a more consistent and I think better spread than the others.
If you just want something that foams your wheels alone that’s a relatively small surface and any type of foamer will probably be OK for that. It’s just that some will do it faster than others.
if you want to foam your whole car, I would assume you want something that will put on a more consistent foam and let you do this faster.
This is a video that will provide you some information:

Good luck.

You are welcom.
One thing I forgot to mention, is the quality and longevity of the different devices.
I am new to this also, but I spent a bit of time researching this, and I figured you and others could benefit.
Good driving to you!
