Manual Transmission all stock, PP, on Pirellis. With so-so launches I ran a 14.487 at 94.39 MPH 2.133 60' time . Track Apps said 14.7

I then ran (an hour later) a 14.481 at 98.83 2.218 60' time (I shifted at 5750 RPMs )

It was slam packed so I had to wait forever for first run, and then forever to run again. Im planning on going back to track on a Wed when its empty. Also my stock car "shoots out blue or white smoke" The announcer commented on it during my race and some people from the crowd asked me after. Anyone else have this issue? I literally did nothing to the car, it had around 1700 miles at the time.

Novice question for someone that has tracked their tuned ecoboost, for best track time (1/4 mile) what is the optimum rpm to shift a tuned Ecoboost? Redline, Sooner?

Depends on your power curve. If you shift and drop to lower power, don't do it. Only shift to "higher power" basically. The stock tune makes more power at 3500RPM (about where a first gear 6000RPM will drop you to) than above 6000RPM and will be faster even though the gearing changes.

It seems with tunes, it's better just to redline it.

My fastest runs were hands down shifting before redline. And the MPHs were higher. Also I consider 6500 to be the redline although some consider it to be 7000. It has a shaded area between 6500-7000. Of 5 runs- 3 redlining and 2 shifting at 5750, the 5750 were the quickest by a decent margin.

It just felt all around better on the car. The shifts the motor, sounds and feel. I've been asking the same question. Id love to hear other people's input.

Even with a tune it feels pointless to wind it out to redline. There just doesn't seem to be anything up there but mechanical noise. Like I mentioned in the 0-60 thread, shifting early produces better times since it keeps it in the meaty part of the powerband.

I just got the Cobb tune. I didn't notice much but my octane adjustment ratio needs to creep down to -1 right? Id be happy if I blast a low 13 on street tires! Judging from my track apps your 13.8 would be mid 13 at the track The access port is sick. Seems weird to do it blind otherwise. Pointers and key info welcomed!

Getting very anxious for a tune. Are you all tuned auto or manual?
I am getting 5.6/5.8 0-60 stock just letting the car do it's thing in sport+. Still getting a little wheel spin so it should get better I'd think. To be honest I'll be dissapointed in anything higher than 5.1 after a tune.

I have a livernois tuned manual. My 5.5 is due to inexperience off the line and haven't found the ideal shift rpms. I haven't made too many runs. I have seen on this site posts claiming to get into the high 4s with tune only. I'm sure anyone with practice can get to at least 5.0 with any of the more aggressive tunes. Livernois, unleashed, a couple others. I went with livernois bc of the highest hp gains while still having pretty high torque too.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong either. My best stock 0-60 is 6.2 lol manual PP. 60' times at the track are 2.1 and 2.2 on the Pirellis. Even when I get a goodLaunch and the car feels like it's pulling hard I don't get into the 5s. I always have to hit 3rd gear though. Any manual PP guys want to drop any tips?
