I've been boosted for some time and I have 3.55 gearing (2020 A10). I'm looking to swap to a 3.15 in the near future and I was wondering what the procedure is after the install.

My tuner said no tune revision would be needed but what else needs to be done? Does someone need to go in and recalibrate the transmission or speedometer?

Do any of the steps reflash my ECU to where I would need to re-flash my aftermarket tune and possibly run into issues?

If anyone has done the same and can explain what needs to be done in steps that would be so helpful.

Go in with FORscan and change the rear ratio.

Awesome, so if i buy a forscan tool online, I change the gear ratio, and that calibrates everything?

Would that mess with the tune on the car (Ex. reflash the car to stock tune?)

You can download FORscan for free for 2 months to your Laptop. You need a OBDII to USB dongle. I got one from Amazon for like $20. You need to Activate FORscan, that's when you get the 2 free months. The tool takes a minute for you to get the lay of the land. Lots of YouTube videos on it.

Just wondering why you are wanting to go to a higher gear ratio in a 3.15 , 10 th gear top speed

The 3.55 gearing in my car tops out 6th gear at like 128 mph. I try to avoid 7th gear due to the weakness of it at higher power levels and a 3.15 would help take my 6th gear to a higher speed than the 3.55's.

Im not sure where the 3.15's would top out 6th but I think its around 145mph which helps for rolls and whatnot.

Yes 3:15 gets you 144mph in 6th.

Doing this exact swap right now. I can't hook up in any gear so I feel limited to just using 6th

I recently swapped out my 3.15 for a 3.55 torsen because I’m planning on staying n/a and wanted to track the car. The car adjusted by itself I didn’t have to do anything.

that's interesting, did you swap the whole pumpkin or just gears?

What was the part number on the sticker? I'm looking at one but I think it's the wrong one...it says 255F.
This is the only picture I have of it because I sold it, hope this helps
