Why?

I've never had to change my tune of the fly..... Ever. It's either 93 octane or 91. I never had a reason to feel all giddy slamming in a new tune cause I just topped off with 93! BAM racecar!

Or do you remove your intake while driving down the road where a different tune is required?

And what does the hand held show you that the dash doesn't?

And with that knowledge, what can you adjust to remedy what your seeing?

Can you move the target afr? Moving timing? Add or dump boost?

We all know you a an Livernois fanboy but other people like different things. Most people don't want a tuner that doesn't do anything after you install the tune. Some people like me want to monitor my tire pressure or gas mileage and have my performace gauges on my AP.

The AP also gives you launch control and flat foot shifting.

I personally didn't think I would use the map switching - but I use it all the damn time.

I do 99% of my driving now with it on the Economy/low boost map. Car is a dog on this map, it sucks and it's boring hahaha

...but it's nice, after 4-5 days of driving with this map, to switch back to the high boost map and re-appreciate the tune...

To the OP. Are you willing to run an OTS map while waiting for Cobb to release ATR so the custom tuners can start? Do you care about the extra features that come with the AP? If not, and you are happy with the numbers Bama is making via the SCT, buy that. You'll make power sooner by going through Bama.
----

Comparing Cobb vs Bama/Livernois(they use their own device)/Torrie/WMS/ect isn't really useful. All those listed are essentially offering custom tunes, which Cobb is not.

The real comparison lies in the Cobb AP vs the SCT X4. The AP, like the SCT, exists to provide a medium through which tuning can occur. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages(which are temporary for both devices).

SCT:
It allows the buyer to have their car tuned in person or via email. It allows datalogging and parameter monitoring. The device is sold at a cheaper price. Another advantage this device currently has it that it is ready for custom tuners to start working. Some needed revisions to the device's capabilities are in process, but these are small concerns that won't affect many owners.

AP:
It will allow you to have your car tuned in person or via email. It allows datalogging and parameter monitoring. The price increase over the SCT comes with several features such as active map switching, and multiple OTS maps you can choose to run until you have the car custom tuned. Currently the ATR tuning software is in beta, so there is a wait before you can be custom tuned. It is not necessary to have the car custom tuned, but you will not make as much power as those who are without doing so. OTS maps are useful as interim tunes. They provide a safe tune that allows you to make and run modifications while deciding on a tuner or if that tuner has a waiting list. I wouldn't recommend running them as a permanent tune.

General comments:
  • Both are proven and capable devices that offer essentially the same end result. They facilitate tuners to create custom maps and revisions for your car. The AP comes with several advantages for its price premium, but those advantages may not be worth it to some potential buyers.
  • Since the ATR tuning software is not currently out of Beta, you would have to run an OTS tune until that is distributed. There is no negative impact to doing so, but the SCT x4 is ready to go. This is a temporary, but significant, advantage in favor of the SCT device.
  • Both devices have plenty of tuners working on them, or lined up to work with them. Some tuners even work with both devices.

Livernois. Their whole world revolves around the ecoboost family of motors since 2010
Yea for the EB id lean toward unleashed, livernois, cobb. Bama just doesnt have the ecoboost/turbo experience of the other three and they almost seem like they gave up on it since they havent posted in this section in like a month.
We all know you a an Livernois fanboy but other people like different things.
Eco and Anthony thank you for your compliments. Get your dates right Anthony 2009 not 2010 ;-) lol

Dan, that isn't really a fair comment. He stated a fact. We have done more with and for the EcoBoost than pretty much anyone else.

So I should just not give my opinion?

Your a Cobb fanboy. So don't give your opinion either. There that makes YOUR sense.

You ACTUALLY monitor tire pressure????? Really? Ok. Your right up the Cobb road!

. The car has a screen on the dash that monitors tire pressure on all 4 tires at once, gas mileage, head temp, iat. Have it all on a nifty box too! Mount it on your windshield so everyone can see the coolness oozing.

I'm sure Florida 5.0 will have a dash kit available for guys like you really soon. You can have 8-9 gauges all across the dash! :D

with you monitoring all these vital statistics, how do you drive the car? That's got to be worse than texting and driving

I think most people want a tuner that does its job. Not a bunch of other jobs that the car already provides.

How aggressive is the shifting gears on the Automatic cars with the Cobb tune?

I like the idea of chirping 3rd gear like in the reviews for the Unleashed Tune and also in the recent vendor review of the Livernois tune.

I have nothing against your product livernois. I know you do a great job with the ecoboost and my buddies sho is proof of that. I have no doubt in my mind that you guys will have the fastest evo period.

Like I said in my above statement I have no problem with livernois and I know they have a great product. Only reason im going with COBB is because I have a local tuner that has tuned a lot of ecoboost engines and he will be helping me tune my car as I get more mods. If I lived in Michigan around livernois that's who I would be going with. Call me a traitor if You want. :D

I can appreciate what you were saying, but we all have our favorite companies. I prefer my Sony 4K (950b, for all you TV guys out there) over the Samsung 9000 series...do I have buddies that live and breathe everything Samsung, YUP.

I have a Note 4...I would NEVER buy an Iphone....

So I again I see what you were saying, but we're all the same at our core.

Thank you, that is definitely the plan...We killed the engineering on:
Head studs
Main studs
Exclusive piston and rod

:gossip:And don't tell anyone...BUT we WILL be the first to offer an all forged rotator, extreme short block and extreme longblock:censored:
