Is there a solution to the constant failure of the evap canister purge valve other than keep replacing them?

How full do you fill your tank? Do you add more after the pump automatically shuts off? Topping off the tank is reportedly very bad for the purge valve.

I started not going pass the initial pump shut off, the valve still went bad. I'm trying to only fill to 3/4 tank and see how long this new valve last. I'm thinking about also weekly cleaning 🤔

It's a shame Ford isn't trying to fix what is clearly a manufacturer's defective part with a permanent solution.

Purge valves aren't just a Ford problem. There are other manufacturers that have the same or similar problems. If your new part is recent it's probably part of the general decline of quality in replacement parts since the pandemic. For a time (maybe still?) lifters and camshafts were so bad that they self destructed in very short order and that's just one example.

Wow, didn't think of that.

Are you replacing it with OEM parts made in the U.S. or are they compatible knock-offs from Amazon? Just curious as my car hasn't had any issues with it so far.

Some things it doesn't pay to use anything except OEM parts from a reputable source. The purge valve would fall in that category. As does any kind of sensor really.
Amazon and Ebay are not reputable places even if the part is marketed as OEM. Auto parts stores are barely better. You're pretty much gambling on parts from those places. Blaming Ford when using Amazon parts is just not right.
If I can't get a part directly from a dealer then I consider online Ford parts sites. Failing that I've had pretty good luck with RockAuto.

Not anymore. I use too a year ago. After the 2nd purge valve replacement I started not topping off, stop when the pump clicked off. Only problem with that is different gas stations click off at different amounts. So 4 months ago and 5 purge valves in I started trying to cut the pump off before the click. Now, 6 or 7 purge valves in I'm trying to fill up 3/4 tank with weekly or biweekly purge valve cleaning.

When it comes to car parts (especially electrical like sensors, solenoids, etc.) I stay away from Chinese made stuff. Unfortunately, even some "american" aftermarket companies like Dorman, Standard, etc. outsource stuff from China. O'reilly's Masterpro line are all Chinese made. For aftermarket, I'll check Napa because they have various levels of quality; ie. ignition coils for COP systems, they have cheaper ones made in China but the more expensive ones (even Napa branded) may be from Hitachi, etc. for Asian cars and when I check the box, it says made in Japan. I haven't bought any parts for my GT yet to see where they're made. Just check the box, by regulations/law if the product is NOT made in the U.S. it must say on the carton or the component where it's made.

Hello; Many years ago I was replacing alternators on my F-150 pickup every year or so. I had purchased with a lifetime warranty so the auto parts store was not charging. (Advanced) After two or three replacements someone suggested I replace the wire harness cable which plugs into the alternator. I did such and the problem stopped.

I am not suggesting the harness cable is the problem exactly. More that after so many new parts there may be some other thing at play. I do not have a clue as to what it may be.

My pickup throws a fuel system code every couple of years. I forget the code number but it indicates a leak in the fuel system. I have "fixed" it so far by replacing the rubber O ring on the fuel cap and slathering some Vaseline on the O ring.
The system performs a self-test from time to time. As I understand this it closes all openings (valves) in the system. The computer expects pressure to build up after a bit. If the pressure does not build the computer throws a code about a leak.

Maybe replace hoses or other fittings next time???
