JLT when you get s chance could you do a couple revs or drive by with the intake?
CJ Pony Parts just posted this on their Youtube Channel. At the end of the installation they show some sound clips of some revs. Sounds great in my opinion! Can't wait to get my ecostang so I can get this CAI!

If you don't believe opening the intake up on a turbo motor doesnt make power there's no help for you. Sorry

Putting a 10" long 8" opening 9" diameter filter on the turbo. ....... Filter ONLY on my turbo mustang. No other changes. Killed 90 some hp and went fat. Same day. Same Dyno. 5 min apart on the pulls

Please tell me I don't know anything about turbo motors.

That's bigger than the motor in some of your turbo cars

Vinny from JLT clearly said Downpipe or a tune will pick up more power then intake. He never said the intake is the key to gobs of power.

The ecoboost will benefit from a tune, intercooler, downpipe, and intake. In that order.

JLT-there are now three vendors making CAI's that place the filter in the drivers side fender vice your and Airaids design, did you guys to any in the fender placement before deciding to use the stock airbox location?

Not on this vehicle, we prefer the heat shield design using the factory fresh air vent over the in the fender design.

90% of the intake kits we make follow this same design. We don't feel the gains of running a in the fender mounted filter outweigh the risks( IE Water, elements etc).

Thanks; have you heard results from the companies that you sent the intakes to?
We are working with VMP Tuning (Justin Starkey) on an intake/tune kit and will have results early next week. We are also hitting the track February 1st to see what the net gains are on the non PP Ecoboost with the intake/tune kit. I will keep you guys updated with pics/videos/results!

Revolution Automotive in MD sent us results they had in their shop. Car picked up roughly 9 peak WHP, I'm working on getting the drf files from them to see exact numbers under the curve for gains.

The car didn't pick up in the way of peak torque down bottom, but did pick some up after 4k rpm.

Car details:
Both are with a stock tune, 93 oct, Ecoboost automatic, 3.31 gears and GT performance pack wheels

We sent out a few kits to different vendors/companies for testing so we should have more info in soon. Very interested in seeing the after tune results, and a manual transmission car.

Vinny

UPDATE
Revolution Auto was kind enough to send me the dynojet files so we could take a closer look at under the curve gains.

Here's what we see at 4.4K - 12whp 14ftlbs

4.8k - 15whp and 17ft lbs

5.4K - 17whp and 16 ft lbs

5.6K - 16whp and 14 ftlbs

So while the "peak" numbers showed 9 more peak horsepower, you see the actually gains throughout the RPM band are very impressive.

We will have the results for the 3.31 gears, manual transmission, and 93 octane Ecoboost this weekend!
