I haven't done a system so to speak in ages. I figured it was time to do the stang. I made this amp rack my self. I bought a sheet of blown pvc, cut it to fit in the spare tire spot. Jl audio 6 channel amp and jl audio mono for the subs. I mounted a rockford fosgate dsr1 to the underside of it the board. I need to make a mount to secure the board down. I ran the extension harness to the back, leaving the factory piece in place. This way I only had to run the speaker wires up the side instead of 8 channels of rca cables. I figured it would lessen the chance of interference. I'm pretty proud of this work done. All the speakers were replaced. Center channel is disabled. All I have to do is throw my jl dual 12 inch sub box in. I need to learn all the dsr1 tuning aspects before I put the subs in. I picked up a lot from reading post in this forum. Car audio is so much different than when I was young lol.

I used the spare tire mount and threaded hole already there with the plastic wing nut thing with a bolt from Lowe's. It keeps the amp rack nice and secure

Thanks. I used the wing nut thing as Tony did, for now until I make another option. I also cut the tire cover and made it a hatch type that I, can lift up to give access to everything. I need to make something to hold the box I place as well.

I used the original floor panel, marked it far enough up on the bottom side that would give me clearance. Then used a box cutter to cut through the bottom. It's still attached to the carpet on the top side. I saw it done on the "five star car stereo "youtube channel. They're referenced here a lot.

Idea!! As far as securing your sub box. If you remove the bottom part of your rear seat, in the back towards the trunk on the floor panel, you will see two metal posts sticking up. One is more towards the drivers side and one is towards the passenger side. I used two pieces of metal strap with holes. I screwed one end of the strap to the bottom rear of the sub box, then looped the other end of the strap over the metal post, then put a nut on the post to secure that end of the strap down. I did one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. It worked like a charm. I wish I would have taken a Pic of it before I installed my rear seat delete, but I didnt

Nice job.

I have XR1000 floating on top of a notched OE styrofoam intert Infront of the jack that's in front of spare jug washer fluid and emergency blanket, 40' extension cord, torque wrench, breaker bar, tire inflator kit, zip lock with thread locker, anti seize, sm wire brush, auto body paint coveralls for wrenching, bag of lug nuts and couple pair of gloves stashed in this priceless real estate haha.
