Is your car an automatic or manual transmission?
If automatic you will probably have to go to an aftermarket add-on system. I don't think I have ever seen or heard of someone getting the OEM setup added to a car without the option.

My Mach 1 2022 auto has the remote lock/unlock and start/stop function via the FordPass app. Also shows oil life and tyre pressures. Newer model OEM function but cool to start when people are taking selfies near it :cwl:

OK, but it's the OEM system from the factory, right. Not something you added after the fact is it?
My take is that the OP wants to add remote start to a car without it.
Without going aftermarket I've not seen or read of anyone adding OEM functionality to a car that didn't come with that option. Maybe someone has and I just don't know. But I'd bet it's not a simple thing to do.

My 2020 non-premium has this feature through the Ford Pass app, but not on the remote. My 2020 F150 was the same way. Pretty sure it’s been standard since at least then.

I'm not sure the OP's '16 would have routinely came with the ability to interact with the Ford Pass app like that. My '18 Premium Convertible with the A10 has remote start on the fob but will not remote start with the app. It doesn't have the necessary modem (or whatever it uses to communicate with the app). I don't think Ford put those in all its vehicles until 2019.

Misread the post. Thought the OP had a 22.
