I've read where some people put Steeda coils, bump stops, sway bars, etc on the Mach 1. I just bought one with 6400 miles. Is it worth going the Steeda route? Will it improve the car much?

It did on my 2022 GT

I did the following below, and while the car was awesome out of the box, this took it to a whole new level.

Steeda Dual Rates
Cortex Monoball Bearings Front & Rear
Steeda 1-3/8” Front Sway
Maximum Motorsports CC Plates
Steeda Competition Rear Sway
SPC Rear Camber Arms
Steeda IRS Alignment Dowels & Bushings
AAD Vertical Links
AAD Front & Rear End Links

OP:

I did

Steeda:
  • Dual Rate Springs (magneride)
  • Camber Plates
  • Differential Bushing Insert System
  • 2-Point G-Trac Brace
  • Full-Length Jacking Rails
  • Rear IRS Subframe Support Braces
  • IRS Subframe Bushing Support System
  • Bumpsteer Kit
  • Billet Rear Spring Spacer (1/8)
  • Front Ride Height Spacer Kit (1/8)
  • IRS Subframe Alignment Kit
  • Billet Aluminum Vertical Links
  • Adjustable Rear Toe Link
  • Competition Front/Rear Sway Bar Kit
  • Billet 1-3/8" Front Sway Bar Mount
  • X-Pipe
UPR:
  • Urethane Street Adj Motor Mounts

Personally I found once the "hop" was removed along with the fidgety rear end movement I fell even more in love with the car. Most of the stuff mentioned just leads to level of "press gas and car goes" feeling which i love as theirs little to zero

weight transfer
suspension movement
etc

How the car feels when turning I havn't quite dialed in yet.

Hey
MACHtobers Very Own,

Thank you for being a dedicated Steeda Customer! We love hearing feedback on enthusiasts!

OP, while the Mach 1 is a fantastic platform to start with, especially over the GT's, there is still room for improvement. If you're interested in getting some parts before our sale begins, send me an email, [email protected]. We'll take care of you.

Why would I get them "before" the sale starts?

Fantastic quality and customer service from them! It is hard to say exactly what effect the monoball bearings had on the car because I did all of the mods together with the exception of the IRS alignment dowel kit and bushings. All I can say is the car is ridiculous in the handling department.

Here's what I'm considering. I know the M1 has adjustable camber plates. Do I need Steeda parts? Will the M1 plates work with the Steeda springs? Please give your comments.

everything they say is highly recommended buying their plates with their springs. Not sure if it's marketing or a true requirement. I did it just cause that's the area the tech will be working in and don't want to have to go back for some unknown reason things don't play well together. Sucks if that's the sales goal but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Installing the Steeda plates re-uses the factory spring perch and bearing. So changing to the Steeda 8243 springs (nice choice) does not require using Steeda plates... it's fine with the Ford plates.

They probably suggest it because the same labor would have to be done twice if the springs and plates were done at different times. Twice the labor, twice the time, twice the cost.

You can keep the Ford plates, but the Steeda plates will get you more adjustment-particularly if you open up the strut tower opening at the same time. I have Steeda plates and while they are decent I'd get Vorshlag if I had to do it again. Drive the car and see how it is before you make changes. You mention bumpstops, but as I recall magneride cars do not utilize bumpstops. I don't remember seeing them on mine when doing springs.

Bump stops are on the rear. You will need to trim. Ask me how I know )=

Are you referring to the 555 8133 Bump Steer Kit Rob?
