I'm think of installing the Flowmaster American Thunder series installed on my 15 GT Prem. Has anyone else gone with them? I know most here seem to use Borla or Ford Racing. Any video of the Flowmaster system would be helpful. Thanks

Whats up. I ordered the cat back system about 10 days ago. It is stuck at the UPS hub about 15 minutes from me. I cant get it until Monday. I have to go out for some training next week (Army Stuff) and wont be able to install it until 30 Jan. I had flowmasters on my last mustang. I personally like the sound. You will never truly know until you hear it in person. Once I get it on, prob on 31 Jan I can update you. If you have a Iphone you can facetime me. Flowmaster did post the video below yesterday. Good luck. PM me if you need anything.

Hi, Are you planning to do the install yourself? In the garage? Is there any solder/welding/cutting that is required either to take the old system off or install the new ones?

A buddy of mine said there isn't and welding or cutting it should bolt up to where the existing system is. The video was good. I think my laptop speakers can do it justice as they didn't seem to have that "low/deep" sound.

I'd love to know how your sound. I do have an iPhone.

Thanks,
Steve

I am going to do it. On a lift. We have a place on post that we use. Like $2 an hour for the lift and tools. You do have to cut the factory pipes 11 inches back from the cats. According to the instructions on the site. Doesn't seem to hard. Prob rent a exhaust chain cutter from advance auto. If you pm me, I'll face time you during the install and right after.

Your buddy is right if you get the catback it just bolts right on. Only axlebacks require cutting.

That's disappointing if you have to cut and will put it at a disadvantage over other catback systems in preference right off the bat That you can install with a ratchet and socket set.

I've got the American Thunder axle back and a resonator delete. The axle back uses the Super 44 mufflers. A little louder than the 60 series in the catback.

I don't believe so. I have the install instructions. It clearly says cut.
Wow sorry. It seems that the majority catbacks out there right now are bolt on. I wonder why flow master went this way.

I know. I wonder why. I was looking forward to just bolting it up. Guess I'll see! I'll keep everyone updated.

Maybe it's to avoid making down to the 2" mating points on the factory system. Go past the factory clamp and cut/clamp in to the 2 1/2" portion.
