I got a little bit of wax on some pieces of plastic trim on my car and was wandering what is best to remove it. I can't seem to get it off . What do you guys use?

best is avoiding it

but you should cover plastic trim with plastic care products (like armor all) before waxing your car

I know this sounds strange, but I have dabbed a bit of wax on the spot then immediately wiped it off with some hard pressure on the area. The new wax lubricates the dried wax so it is removable.

Same concept works with dry erase markers too. I do this all the time coaching hockey.

try mothers black to black before you apply wax this will coat the plastic and make the wax easy to remove, then reapply b to b its awesome stuff, use it on all the black to preserve the color

The linked Griots product is good. Basically anything that will break down the wax. Even a IPA/water mixture will work and is very cheap.

next time you can use 'painters tape' and tape off the moldings before you wax.

Yeah, also even an APC like simple green with a light brush will work.

How many of you actually mask those parts?
The only time I mask off the trim, wipers, and panel gaps is when I am going to polish with my DA and a compound. Otherwise I use a sealant or coating that won't mark up trim.

I'll never, ever use a "wax" again.

I had the same problem, after searching it online I found two easy answers one was peanut butter the other was a pencil eraser. Didn't try the peanut butter because I found a few guys said it might leave a oil mark. The eraser worked great. I now keep one with my car cleaning gear.
