I can't take this anymore lol. I'm gonna dyno today at Madtunes Racing. The tuner is suggesting to dyno in 4th great for a 1 to 1 ratio. I thought I read that somewhere that 5th should be the gear you want to dyno this car in (PP with 3.73 gears).

5th is 1 to 1 in a manual car since 2011 doesn't matter what options it has

1 to 1 in the MT-82 6 speed is 5th gear. If he's telling you 4th, he is wrong. The previous T-56 1 to 1 is 4th gear. Look up the gear ratio specs for the MT-82, you'll see the ratios for each gear. Rear end ratio does not matter and has no effect on the ratios within the transmission.

Ok. Here are my dyno results. I am not quite sure what to think now? Maybe some of you experienced tuners can give some feedback. I don't see how I dyno'd almost the same exact numbers with the BAMA tune & Airaid CAI as I did with just the Airaid CAI. I can definitely feel a big difference when driving and also while I was on the dyno with the BAMA tune? As you can see on the print outs, I didn't run the RPM's high enough on the first few runs though. The tuner did not have any fans running on the front of the car (mobile dynojet), so I noticed the head temp getting up to 230 degrees on each run. I'm not sure how big of difference that made. Runs 1 & 2 did perform better through the low and mid RPM range.

-Runs 1 & 2 are with the BAMA 93 Octane Track tune & Airaid CAI
-Runs 3 & 4 are with the stock tune & Airaid CAI
-Run 5 is with the BAMA 93 Octane (with a WOT adjustment of -2 and a Golbal Spark adjustment of -2).

I am not going to stay with the 5th run timing adjustments because the car didn't perform right on my drive home (exhaust popping some & a slight rev at lower RPM's after slowing down/downshifting with minimal accelaration.

This is exactly what I told you in a pm yesterday. They sent me a email saying they couldn't get much out of the tune for the airaid. I'm telling u I felt more of a gain with just the airaid than I did with the tune. This arrived today so I'm not that concerned.

I was thinking this is exactly what you experienced as well. I can tell a big difference with the tune though? I'm gonna have to return the tune to stock and drive it some more to see if I can tell just to be sure. Plus that's a big gain just for a CAI? Maybe the tune is not going back to stock settings but it's saying it is? I'm confused lol.

Just like I said in other post if you don't plan on tuning the airaid is the way to go. If your are going to run a tune the jlt is putting up the best #s.

I think I read somewhere that the custom tunes change the throttle response mapping, so it basically opens the TB more with the same amount of gas pedal depression (vs stock)...which would make the car 'feel' stronger. I may be way off base here tho.

Do you still have the dyno results so I can compare to mine?

Sry I posted the two tunes on accident and deleted it. The top one in the photo is cai only the bottom is tune and cai. So I paid good money for 1hp and 10lb of torque.

Do you remember what your baseline numbers were? I wished I had a baseline now. I know our cars won't be exactly the same but it gives me a better idea. Let's say my car baseline was on the high side at 390 and jumped up to 415 with the CAI. That's a 25 hp increase just from the Airaid CAI. And no dyno gains with the BAMA 93 track tune but I can tell a big difference in power when driving? I don't think the tune changes I'm feeling are just throttle position or response. Does anybody have any thoughts on this? And I'm not partial to any brand or tuner. I think all the brands mentioned are great products. I just want some good feedback.

I didn't do a baseline. I wish I would have after all this. I don't see u picking up that much from a cai. Although every dyno is different so there's no telling without a baseline.

So is this an issue with running tunes and the airaid or the Bama tune? I do know not all the parameters within the sct are unlocked yet.

the problem with the airaid is it's a "no tune intake", without increasing the size, it really isn't going to increase the airflow anymore

we have the jlt's available in painted and plastic,

steeda always makes a nice product as well
Does Steeda make different color filters or just blue?
