Were you able to get one of the mechs to ride with you this last time, Sonia? Seems like that would accomplish the goal, assuming you can make the car repeat the problem.
I did he heard it several times, when they gave it back they said they torqued something at the firewall, got it back and a month later it started again 🥺

I would like to know what they "torqued" on the firewall, because you said it started again a month later, that means for a month the problem stopped, I would ask they torque it again and use thread lock, because it sounds like it loosened and came back, and the thread lock would prevent that from loosening again.

I get the slight creak only seems to be left and only coming from a stop and not often. Almost feels like it s vibrating to the pedals. Ran the car hard at Tail of The Dragon and it s as smooth and tight as can be. Maybe it s something else flexing where it goes thru the firewall . At least that what it feels like. I m thinking after all the reading that maybe it s not the steering. Anyway I m not letting the dealer touch it. Subscribed.

Yep, just picked mine back up, they couldn't duplicate the noise they've already heard several times. I opened a claim with Ford last week she is supposed to touch base with me tomorrow, I will let her know I picked it up. This is so aggravating I'm ready to trade it I just don't like the new body styles.

just drive it, it s either nothing bad or it will get bad enough to find. It s funny no one has reported a failure related to the sound that we know of. If I have the radio ON I never hear it. Like you said , it s not all the time. I m hoping it s just a plastic piece or wheel liner or something like that just rubbing at a certain angle. I wish I could have some looking into the front from the side with the hood up while I move forward.

But if your in the car with them and you can duplicate it with them IN the car, how is this a problem, either they dont want to fix it or bother to try or they dont know what it is and do not want to admit to it.

But I still ask, what did they torque on the firewall that stopped it for a month? That is a crucial question since mine has never gone a way at all, and the fact they got it to stop for a month means something.

In theory you could, this noise does not need you to go fast or crazy, just whell locking to the left and creepy forward, its simple to replicate as long as its the same noise I posted about or the same as the video that was attached to this thread for a member.

And this isnt a creak from a stop, that is not the same, this only occurs during hard locking the wheel to the left and slowly inching forward within the first 3 seconds. Mine occurs forward or reverse. with the wheel locked left.

yes, I wasn't clear then. Hard lock left and get more of a pop you can feel at the pedals. My other point was that there are no other symptoms of a loose steering or front suspension parts. Doesn t always do it either.

Correct, mine now sounds like rocks being crushed or bones, But i am still curious to Sonia's claim that it stopped for a month, I wish I had that fortune. The fact that it stopped for 30 days is promising at least to me.

I have to correct myself, when I got it back last time I only paid attention for a few days then after that I didn't. One day I was leaving and nothing was on and it did it, I should have paid more attention 😪. I'm going to see what Ford says when they call me hopefully today. I checked out the new mustangs and they look like electric cars on the inside, not a fan. Might be moving over to Mercedes or Cadillac. I've had a camaro not a big fan so we will see.

Just got a call from Akins Ford and they are going to get a Ford Engineer out😁😁😁😁 i guess threatening them with an attorney made them do something or the felt bad for me due to my anxiety with this car

It’s good they’re trying to rectify it. That said, the lawyer threats do absolutely zero. It’s a broken record at this point. What it would cost you to attempt to litigate that would be more expensive then the car itself. More times then not a good service manager will have escalated that to ford. What makes no sense is they all(franchise dealers, ford) have the ability to do just that with issue’s techs don’t see often and need some help. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that either. But so many won’t do that. My good friend is a senior mastertech at a ford dealership. I just shake my head with some of the stuff he’s told me about dealing with bad service managers. Really hope for you they get it solved.

See I'm not a "all talk" kinda chick, I would do it to prove a point and they know that. I wanted this car and they will fix it or we will go to the next level, it started in November couldn't get my car in until April. I have 35,837 miles on it and it had 78 miles on it when I bought it. I don't care what I have to do to get it fixed but it will get fixed. It's their obligation to fix it, I was told "since you have 100,000 miles bumper to bumper, you got plenty of time" that was when I took it in in April, no you're going to fix it. I will be a pesty bug flying around your face before I give up.

Obviously you have it all figured out. Best of luck.
