thanks thats really helpful info. Hopefully the color all blends and matches well. I also have aftermarket marker lights on the bumper so hopefully they don’t mess those up with the wiring there . Hope they balance my wheel right too

Your repair for any shop that is worth a damn is pretty easy and straight forward. Even the color, I know everyone is afraid of Oranges and Reds, they are a little challenging but honestly not that big of a deal if you have the right equipment (Tint camera, color matrix, and a qualified painter that knows what they are doing) Believe it or not Pearl Whites are usually the most difficult.. You would not believe how many different shades and tones of white there is and pearl coats just love to screw with that. If you really look your bumper and your quarter panel are not exact color matches now. Plastics to metals reflect color differently. .. A good painter because they can tint will make your colors match even better than Ford did.

That is why my absolute best advice is choose your shop wisely. If you do, nothing else is really a worry. Even if there is a mistake after all we are humans and not robots.. A good shop will do what's right to make it right.

It didn't require a lawyer in NC when a woman ran into the back of my wife's van a decade ago. Your state may be different, but probably not.

I would first tell the at-fault's insurance company you want diminished value. That's what we did. They easily accepted my $500 "pulled out of my hat" amount. Maybe we should have asked for more, if they agreed that quick and easily.

The caveat was that we had to sign an agreement that we would not submit any more claims related to the accident. I probably should have asked more, as I did have a lift-gate rub from the repairs that wore through paint and began rusting the metal underneath.

So those are some things to keep in mind when you engage the at-fault's insurance company.

Any ideas on what would happen if where I got the wheel is out of stock ? It’s a LMR SVE RIM. Would they have to wait?

That usually is the case. Insurance companies owe to make you whole (the way it was) so that is possible. If the wheel can not be sourced the options are 1) wait for the wheel and see if they can do all the other work and if that wheel is deemed safe they will roll you and bring you back when the wheel comes in 2) The wheel is no longer available anywhere.. This option sucks. Insurance will pay you out for that one wheel and the procedures that come with it. You would use that to go to the cost of 4 new wheels that are available.

Things moved way faster after that, and I didn’t have to keep chasing them for updates. Definitely helped cut down the stress.
