Was gonna say, all my target clays are orange and I try to hit all of those…You are looking at it wrong. You are actually a moving target in bright orange. Might as well have painted it bullseye.![]()
Yes, please make sure you are compensated for diminished value. When it's someone's else liability you should be made fully whole. Which includes the hit in value of your car due to it now having (more?) accident/repair history. Sometimes easy, sometimes hard to compel to be paid. There are agents that will assist with this for a fee.Don't forget to demand a check for diminished value from their insurance company.
It cones from your insurance companyDon't forget to demand a check for diminished value from their insurance company.
I understand this can be an experience but I've been able to find quality shops that do insurance work. You do have to check around, ask any good mechanics you might know, look for references I'll give you that. I've seen many local shops converted the the National chains lately which means shitty work. And to add to this, find a legit paint shop that DOES NOT do collision/insurance repair work. Their painters are usually burned out and stopped giving a shit about their job long ago.
We have a shop here that was considered the top shop to go to. They do ground up restos and full custom fabrication. The paintwork on vehicles they've done have been flawless.
They recently got into collision work and went down the shitter. I had them paint a new hood for me and they fucked it up twice. Now i need to find someone else to paint it a third time. I considered just saying fuck em and doing a chargeback but i guess I'll just bite the cost and take it as a lesson learned.
that what I’m thinking lol. I’ll probably tell them where I got it from to make sure cause I would be hella angry if they got the wrong rimWouldn't they just get one from LMR? lol
wouldn’t that require getting a lawyer ?Don't forget to demand a check for diminished value from their insurance company.
Hopefully they have it in stock. I’ve seen a lot of Out of Stock notices on a lot of the SVE wheels lately…that what I’m thinking lol. I’ll probably tell them where I got it from to make sure cause I would be hella angry if they got the wrong rim
Maybe reach out to your local Mustang car club and ask if they can recommend a good autobody shop. Or, attend a local "coffee and cars" gathering. Find a couple of restored/customized cars that have a nice paint job. Ask the owners if they could recommend a shop. Then, when you go to a shop for an estimate, take a look inside the shop work area. See if there are numerous nice cars being repaired or completed. Ask to look at the finished product of a completed nice car. As for unloading your car based on the damage in the photos, I wouldn't. Just keep the photos so if down the line you sell/trade it in and are asked about the damage listed on the Carfax report you can show what it was (happened to me at a dealership, almost caused a reduced trade in amount). Satisfied them that the damage was relatively minor. So had an accident and a truck backed up into me. Anyone got any advice and how it would be repaired or replaced. They also damaged my SVE sp2 rim. I Think it’s a sign to sell the car. This is the second time someone hit me unfortunately.

thanks thats really helpful info. Hopefully the color all blends and matches well. I also have aftermarket marker lights on the bumper so hopefully they don’t mess those up with the wiring thereI run a Collision Repair facility so I can throw some info in for you.
Bumper and both tail lamps are taken off the vehicle. The bumper looks repairable, they will repair the bumper, blend paint and fully clear coat the bumper. This of course means the bumper will be completely disassembled.. Marker lights, lower trim etc.
The Quarter panel will be taken down to bare metal, metal pulled and refinished, then primed, again they will blend paint but the full quarter panel will have to be clear coated. This means the Quarter glass should be removed and the lower rocker cover at least dropped. They should clear the roof rail and windshield pillar as well as it is on seamless piece of metal and no clear coat is approved for blending or "burning".
As for your Wheel, most insurance companies request we at least sent it out to a wheel company to see if the wheel can be repaired and refinished. 9 times out of 10 they will not repair it and a new wheel will be ordered. When we need to order a wheel, we find it and source it anywhere we can that has availability. I have ordered wheels from fitment industries, Tire rack, Discount. Anywhere it can be sourced. Then of course mount balance.. Etc.. Any impact to a wheel justifies insurance paying for an alignment. I would verify that is happening.
Choose a good shop with good reviews. Been in business for a good amount of time and treats you well. As a claimant against the others parties insurance they owe you for a rental car while the vehicle is being repaired. Get in one, Ford parts are not the fastest and most available things right now and there is a world where your car is in the shop for a month.
Sorry about your car man, I know that sucks. I hope all goes well for you.
