My dealer tried to add dealer doc fees of more than $700 to my order. I immediately caught it...said "this is an X-Plan order"...he immediately dropped it to $100 (he already knew it was X-Plan).

The Ford Vehicle Order Confirmation computer spread sheet he was using listed the X-Plan at the top of the page. Just how accurate are the algorithms that Ford uses?

The X-Plan spreadsheet website that is available to Forum members used to have the 1.6% advertising fee calculation built-in. But a few weeks ago it disappeared...the cell line still states 1.6% but does not calculate the fee nor add it to the total X-Plan. Not sure why.

So X-Plan doesn't waive it and it's not negotiable at all?

which charge are you talking about, the adv fee or dealer documentation fee? Adv fee is built into x-plan price, doc fee is capped at $100. Technically the doc fee is negotiable, as a dealer could charge anywhere from $0-100 but I haven't heard of any charging less than the max $100

Yes I'm talking about the Adv fee. When I check the price at Ford Inventory using X-Plan, it shows this for example (attached image) should I add the adv fee on top of it or the "NET X PLAN" includes everything but the Doc fee?

No, the X-Plan price you see is what you pay, plus the $100 Doc fee. Anything on the invoice is included, ADV, Fuel etc.

I am wishing I had joined MCA.... 2 months ago. I just don't want to wait 60 days now. Also 3 dealers in my area say they won't even do X-Plan if the car isn't on their lot.
 It's not a waiting period.

Yup it's just a 60 day minimum you have to sign up for. Since MCA requires a 1 year minimum so you will be good to get it right away.

From the various advertisement fees given by forum members when supposedly using X-Plan, it is apparent that some dealer's computer systems are not calculating the fee correctly.

The X-Plan documents from Ford clearly state that adv. fees are pegged at 1.63%.
So if you are using X-Plan, bring a calculator, to double check the fee the dealer is coming up with. I have been told that Ford does not look kindly on dealers who fudge Ford Plans.

Just wanted to let everyone who helped know, that I got my mustang today! I went X-Plan with EAA and 750 EAA Rebate. My wife can't stop talking about the light pony's from the side mirrors :) Anyways I probably wouldn't of gotten the car/deal I wanted without this forum, so thank you all who commented.

Hmmm that does seem high. Can you share what all options your car has so I can investigate?

Truecar isn't the same as X-plan, as it is just what price a particular participating dealer agrees to. I got different results with Trucar between Denver and Colorado Springs, as well as Indianapolis (where I used to live) yet the Xplan price is the same at all three locations (checked both Xplan B&P and with dealers themselves) X-plan price should be the same no matter where you go in the country. Only differences would be local taxes and fees, plus some rebates are regional only but that is price off Xplan anyway. C
Sure, if you want to try and figure it out that would be great. Here is my vehicle summary. Not shown in the image below but on my window sticker is the 3.55 axle.

I understand that truecar isn't the same a X-plan, but the pricing in my area is really close. Most dealers here that are truecar sell at invoice due to the massive amount of competition in my area. That's the reason I was using the pricing, to try and figure out why my Advertising fee was higher than others.

When I ordered my car, I went into the dealer with the X-plan printout pricing from www.fordpartner.com and handed it to them. They actually came back with a lower price because my printout pricing was old and still had the Enhanced Security Package in it as an option, but now it is standard equipment so the price was backed out.

Here is what X-plan pricing is listed for me today, as I just ran it again.

$45932

On my window sticker it says 13-1117 O/T X SPECIAL ORDER, which I believe is my order number and then Order Type X-Plan.

Any insights into this is greatly appreciated.

That's very strange. I cannot get on Ford Partner site to verify on my end, but it seems they raised the percentage for ADV fee maybe?? It seems to be about $240 off my spreadsheet (I made for myself) which is all off the adv fee difference.

I will have to check out my build when the site is back up tomorrow and compare it to my printout.

Just went on the regular B&P and noticed the base MSRP went up $200....was $41,600 now $41,800.....not a surprise since they've fin updated the B&P to show the ESP as standard...didn't think they'd be giving that away for free for too long! Lol

May have something to do with this mystery?? My window sticker still shows $41,600 base price....I wond if your dealer knew this and tried to sneak it past you by putting the difference in the ADV by fudging the numbers?? I hope my dealer doesn't try this when it comes time to sign my papers....

I ordered at the dealer on Saturday November 15, 2014 and the order was placed with Ford on 11/17/2014. I'd be surprised if they knew this price increase was coming then, especially since the paperwork I printed out from www.fordpartner.com and handed to them was higher in price than what came out of the computer when they put it all in. I found the original paperwork I printed out from the Ford X-plan site in late September 2014.

The price I was given on the order was actually lower at $45,983.55. When I run the same car through www.fordpartner.com now it comes back at $45932.

Your guess is as good as mine, but I do not think the dealer fudged any numbers as why would they lower the price from the original paper work I handed them if they were going to do that?...

Well keep in mind the B&P back then still had the ESP, which was $357. The difference in your ADV was only about $240 so it makes sense that it's still cheaper. Guess it's not the end of the world
