My 2 cents. And it will sound odd.....

I have a post on my issues with the SCTX4 in the mod section.

While I have, what I feel, to be an isolated problem where the tune does not work with my car, the people from Bama and American Muscle have bent over backwards to try and figure it out.

Actually to the point that the "head tuner", Paul Meister, from Bama is coming to me this week to see WTF is going on.

So why endorse a tuner that won't even work for my car?

Simple. Enough people have told me it works with their cars and with great results. Hopefully I won't look like the village idiot when Paul gets here to find something I did wrong but that is very possible as well!

We all have a new product and I don't think anybody could figure every aspect out of the new equipment and the mods we want to make in such a short time.

But to have a company so involved with my one little issue speaks volumes of the company and the people that make up the staff! That, to me, makes them the best. I know when it is all said and done I will own the best from the best.

Am curious to hear what the issue is.

Livernois sounds great. And as long as you do the basic mods, you are probably good. Assuming you are okay with not data logging.

But if you ever go a little more serious mod wise or if you decide you'd like to do a dyno tuning session locally, you are out of luck - as since it is proprietary software, no one locally is going to be able to tune with it.
See thats my problem, I know for a fact I will be doing dynp tuning, the futher the mods go.I guess I will just have to do somemore homework, before deciding.I really dont like being able to not datalog.

Anyone have any idea who has a proven tune for these cars? I am so lost, then i hear about this new tuner that i am skeptical of, what to do? Any help is appreciated
I hear lund is great
but what about the other guys from the coyote platform
aed
livernois
#YDBT
Amazon
etc.
Any help would be great.
A guy that I work with said that he knew a decent tuner in Massachusetts that started out with early 80's Mustangs & Capris before moving on to specialize in 2011+ Mustangs and modular motors. He does most of his track testing in New York while all of his dyno testing is in Massachusetts. Supposed to be a blue collar type guy that has worked hard to get where he is in the industry today and really can't advertise much because of contract agreements for the development work he does with other companies.

Rumor has it that he was also a Technical Advisor on the Fast & Furious movies.

Whats up guys, new member here. Why is VMP not brought up in this discussion?

And why do you lose HP with the SW kit?

Is Paul Meister at bama performance not a good tuner to go with? I want a tune, but want something very safe.
Read ALL the posts then ask the question. The man is getting on a plane and coming to my car Friday to see what a problem I am having is.

Does this make him good? Nope. But history has it his tunes work. So at the very least coming here for my crappy problem makes him "great" just in customer service.

What else can you ask for?

Man its so hard to make a decision, I have used lund before and had great results, how long before u think its going to be out?
they are just waiting for the software to protect the tunes.

once that is set in place, everything will be released to the general public.

as far as dyno vs datalogging, if you have a safe place to datalog, street logging is as real world as it gets.

I wouldn't touch any tuner's tune including Lund right now. The 15 Mustang ECU is very different from the previous generation. SCT is struggling with full support for all the new features and these in house hardware solutions don't say what extra stuff they support over SCT (if anything).

Indeed I think its a little too early. That said I did AED in the past and although the car was faster I ran into all sorts of issues. I honestly will not tune my car ever again. The car has plenty of power and tons of room for improvement in other areas.

Agreed logging on the street is real as it gets, especially load and iat,s , but like u said as long as u have a place to log at without going to jail!!!.
