I am a little confused when you say custom tune. Do you mean an ots tune (built by you) for my mods and octane?

Or do you mean it is actually a custom tune specific to my car? I assume the later since you mention 'amazing access to my car's stock info'?

thanks for clarifying you can read/clear codes. That was a big one for me.
Custom as in made specifically for you! Yes, we still need your mods and all that. But, all of our tuning is done on an individual basis.

Right. But is the tune only based on my mods/octane? Or are you somehow getting other info specific to my car? Not clear on what this statement means: "We actually have amazing access to your car's stock info".

I guess what I am asking is how do you make a custom tune specific to my car if you are not using log files?

Thanks for the PM Ed!

Just so that everyone can benefit from the same info:

Here are 2 quotes from another thread on the site regarding the JLT intake. We gained an extra 14WHP from the tuned intake!

That's awesome Anthony! We're glad that you're happy! To me the craziest part is that you are running a 205° head temp, but only a 52° IAT, that's great lol. 14WHP from a CAI is a great gain! :coolphotos:

Jlt "HOT AIR" intake.

Mind you. This is after 8/9 pulls on the Dyno. So it should be good and heat soaked. I drove the car in traffic on telegraph rd. a 45mph road with lights every mile/mile and a half.

I drove telegraph from Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn Heights to my house in brownstown. About 40/45 min drive with traffic.

Oh and it made 14more peak hp on the dyno, but also made more all along the midrange too. Hmmmmmm

I'm actually curious about the answer to this myself. My guess is that they test out different products and tune for each of them, but with the number of possible different combinations I'm not sure how they can have a tune for everyone's specific setup.

We absolutely do test several of the most popular setups, but we actually have access to your vehicle info from the mfgrs. This is how we are able to make client specific tunes. (In short)

There are several WR holding cars that we have ony remote tuned. Would we rather do all dyno tuning, sure. But for us it is not always required. Keep in mind that we do more tuning than probably 80-90% of the marketplace. This level of experience gives us an advantage when it comes to remote tuning as there are VERY few oddball vehicles or set-ups to us.

The terminology is throwing me off. By remote tune, do you mean a tune you email based on mods and whatever you glean from the manufacturer?

Or are you now talking a remote dyno session where you tune the car remotely while the car is on a dyno.

And coming full circle (assuming you do not mean remote dyno tune), if you'd rather do dyno tuning, then there must be some benefit to using log files for an etune. No?

Remote meaning simply that we are not in the same room as the vehicle.

We made our own proprietary tuning software and hardware, therefore a remote dyno session would be next to impossible as we do not sell our tuning technologies.

The preference is two fold:
1. We have the ability to also tune for drivability.
2. Having the vehicle "in hand" sort of speak it is a faster process for our tuner, as all aspects of tuning can be done more quickly.

There are certain exigent circumstances that we do require whatever vehicle be in house. A good example is recently we had a 2014 C7 that got a head, cam, header and D1SC Procharger installed and the owner wanted 750WHP. That car needed to be here for that level of intricacy.

Any dyno graphs of your in house GT with tune and with jlt? Want to see full curve as well as knowing peak numbers.
Thanks

Cool thank you!

What contributes to the upturn of torque curve w/ your tune vs downturn of stock torque curve around 4k rpms? Does it have something to do with runner control?

There are many aspects that impact the torque changes, things like cam positioning, runner control, and throttle control all play a role into the changes in power at every point. Simply changing one thing or another will not have great impact on the power found in these areas, but knowing how they all need to play together, and tuning for that definitely does net these increases seen here.
