Well, we are not going to call out or shame any other vendors/tuners. But, we are part of an EXTREMELY small group that has the capability of custom tuning any 2014-2015 Ford vehicles. The 2015 MY is a smaller group still. For 2015 the calibration skill that is required is INSANE! Luckily, we were able to crack the tuning for the EB and 5.0L in a few days. For the record, we did not receive our car any earlier than the general public. There were SEVERAL places that had their cars (both EB and/or 5.0L) MONTHS before us. Just to prove that factoid, here is a video that we made on the SECOND day that we had custody of our EB Pony...
Regarding what I bolded above, is this in reference to the 5.0L? If so, how is it so different than tuning an '11 to '14?

I know we had a bit of back and forth in your ecoboost thread about tuning based on log files. What I got out of it was that due to the complexities of tuning the EB (and based on how Livernois tuned the EB), that log files were not needed to fine tune an ots tune. And that due to the way things are logged on the EB, some of the numbers in the log file might not be a great representation of the actual number.

Do you guys take the same stance with the GT in that using a customer's log files wouldn't affect what you do with the tune?

I really like the experience you bring (and the fact you are out there on the track), but your hardware seems behind the times feature wise - no logging, no code reading/clearing, no real time parameter display, etc.

Is Livernois considering a more robust hardware offering?

Awesome questions!

But, our MyCalibrator tuning interface IS a code reader AND code clearer.

The tuning for the GT is equally as complex as the 2.3L Mustang.

Due to the upgrades that Ford made in the engine AND the ECU for the 6G car the tuning for both performance variants of the car is extremely difficult. We have seen this turn towards the more complex ECU in almost every 2015 MY vehicle that we upfit, not just the Mustang or Fords for that matter. It seems that the 2015 vehicles have a much more sophisticated computing systems than their earlier versions.

And you are correct Foghat, we still do not need any type of logs in order for us to build a custom tune. We actually have amazing access to your car's stock info. Almost every single log that clients (or potential clients) would be able to attain would have too slow of a sample rate and samples would be severely inaccurate.

There is actually a great reasoning behind why we do not offer a more elaborate LOOKING tuning interface. There is no GOOD reason to have an interface that is monitoring things that you have no ability to alter. For instance, since you brought up the EB Mustang. There is no reason to monitor boost when you are unable to alter the car's boost curve. The lack of speed in sampling is another reason why we do not offer a more interactive tuning interface. We actually had tried to offer a more interactive tuning interface. The only result of the offering was more mass confusion, because the majority cannot interpret what the screen is displaying. Or, it causes more front-end tech headaches because of again slow and inaccurate sampling.

For us we keep it as simple as possible...if we put garbage info into our tuning software, it is going to give us garbage out.

OT, but feel the need to say it anyway:

I like how instead of writing "nay-sayer" you always write "neigh-sayer", because of the equine nature of the Mustang. Makes me chuckle every time I see one of the posts.

Thanks for that.

Also, have you guys done any 91 octane tunes for the 2015's yet?
If I were to have a 91 octane tune for the street and a higher octane tune for the road course, what is the time required to switch between them and how involved is the process?

Thanks for having a sense of humor! I like satire and sarcasm, so I try to put as much of my personality into my posts as possible.

We do offer 91,93,94 and greater octane level tuning!

Love that!

I think I have found my tuning solution for my '15 GT!! Me likey what I see:cheers:

Any issues for us that will be doing this remotely and not coming to you all for a custom dyno tune? I have only dealt with custom tunes and my old guy moved to Chicago.

I am a little confused when you say custom tune. Do you mean an ots tune (built by you) for my mods and octane?

Or do you mean it is actually a custom tune specific to my car? I assume the later since you mention 'amazing access to my car's stock info'?

thanks for clarifying you can read/clear codes. That was a big one for me.
