How did you get your price?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I called around and finally found a dealer that will accept X plan pricing. Now my question involves X plan. The dealer I spoke to said that he would be willing to order a car for me now and apply the X plan pin to the invoice whenever I get it. For me that would be 60 days from now as I haven't joined any member sites yet. Has anyone else done this? I'd be a little hesitant to give them a deposit and order the car without knowing for sure that I can get X-plan. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

I don't think a deposit is unreasonable if they are putting in an order. Having said that, sit there with them, sign something you get a copy of, and GET A COPY OF YOUR DORA. That is Fords confirmation of an order received. And make sure they give you a higher priority (youll see the priority number on your DORA). As far as X Plan, join EAA soon but it'll be fine whenever you join

I understood that ordering a car on X plan gives them an extra order allocation, where as they might be less inclined to do in for a car already on the lot for reasons you said. Is that correct?

Ahh, I got different info from someone else but that could be correct. Maybe the person I talked to was referring to priorities/speed of order, etc.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have a deal worked out with a local dealership and will be getting X-plan pricing. I'll be saving about $4900 off the next best offer I found on a PP GT. Dealer is Fremont Ford incase anyone is wondering.

Good stuff! I was gonna say I ordered my car through towne ford in redwood city and got invoice.
