The fact that they're called PONY CARS?? And the link I already provided!!??

Seriously....are you stupid? Or just being deliberately obtuse??

Look. Just because you're completely ignorant of the meaning of these historical terms, doesn't mean you get to decide what they mean.
Yeah bud, that link you gave literally says some cars belong in both categories. Lets just agree to disagree here. Wikipedia is seriously your source😂

According to your logic a Dodge challenger is a muscle car, but the link you gave says its a pony car??? Which one is it.

My point being is most of these cars belong in both categories.

But we're not talking about "some cars", are we? No, we're talking about the Mustang.

If ANY car does NOT belong in both categories, it is the Mustang.

It literally created and defined the market category of "Pony Car".

It literally created it.

My son has asked me to rev the engine a few times when he's had friends over. The highest I ever revved to was 4K RPMs, and I thought that was just me being careful.

Doh.

Yes, the 1970 Challenger was a Pony car. But we're not talking about the Challenger, are we?? And just because it's on Wiki doesn't mean it's correct. In fact Wiki tends to be incorrect a lot of the time, because anyone can change it.

Seriously, you need to listen and absorb more and argue less. I've shared information with you that's 100% correct, but you just want to be correct yourself, regardless of facts.

See, now, if everyone drove a V6 they would know its a pony car because those damn pony logos are EVERYWHERE!

This thread is an absolutely perfect example of how a person can ask one simple, innocuous question and somehow a rabid debate will blow up about something completely unrelated.

I mean, who cares if the Mustang is a "muscle car," a "pony car," both, or neither? I can understand getting heated in an argument about whether the government should be destroying the fossil fuel industry to stave off an imagined climate catastrophe. That has consequences on both sides of the debate. But this one?

I completely agree! Sorry if I contributed to the hijacking of this thread. People can't seem to have conversations anymore, so a lot of thread turn into arguments like this :like:

Oh, heck, I'm as guilty as anyone. I jumped right into that debate about climate change that popped up in the post about the Mustang getting washed away in a flood. Except I'll excuse myself a little bit because at least that debate is really important.
