There’s been plenty of folks who’ve done this build without forscan so I doubt you’ll have much issue. Check out audio control’s website, they have all the install and setup notes and YouTube is a library of info as well.

thanks
yes, i went to a local shop, and he said i can get by without the lc2i or the forscan. he said really the base roll off is only an issue when you jack the volume way up. that's not what i want anyway....just a little more base at normal volumes. he quoted $663 for the 10" rockford fosgate powered subwoofer, plus the wiring kit and line converters, all installed. realistically i would probably spend $400 on parts on my own...so, $263 to install it and tune it is a pretty decent price. i may go this route after all.

Why don't your installer just get a T-Harness for behind the radio and taps the front signals there? Problem solved. Ok, it might be that the front signals are also highpassed, but with a 9-speaker system you should at least be able to get by without a LOC this way.

It probably requires a lot less work to tap the rear deck speakers than the front door speakers or center channel speaker, I think.

Maybe easier, but signal quality is way worse than right behind the ACM.

I wouldn't know, I'm not an audio guy. Underground electrical construction and maintenance was my thing.

I have that version. Don't know why it isn't being recognized.

Are you manually pressing the connect icon at the bottom left of the screen. That's what I have to do it won't automatically connect just by opening the software.

yes, thanks. that's the way i've always connected it. it will start populating the window and then it stops and a pop up will open asking for the pcm part number.

Well you can write them on the support site and give them your vin#. I did that and 2 days later they had the new version come out. So maybe they will update again at end of May.

I just posted the question over on the forscan forum. Perhaps I'll get lucky there.

As said, the GT does not have active noise cancellation. If tapping the rear speakers to feed a subwoofer amp you need Forscan and an ODBII interface that does both Hi and Lo speed can buss.
Set the first two digits to 00 in the ACM (ignore all other digits). This is the address:
727-01-02 00xx - Disables Factory EQ Processing (ACM As-Built)
I was able to access the as builts

changed from
727-01-02 0100 0000 0032
to
727-01-02 0000 0000 0032

i thought i was going to change 2 digits, hence the question....does it look right?

i certainly can't tell any difference by listening to the radio

01 to 00 would be correct. You would need to listen to a source other than the radio to hear a difference.

ok thanks. this was a test version of forscan. i emailed them as suggested by another poster with my vin information and they created a test version of the software to see if it would work on my car. it did, with one minor complication. i couldn't get it to disconnect after making the changes using the "unplug" icon at the bottom of the page. i instead made sure the key was off and then disconnected the dongle and laptop. I don't remember if i closed the software first, lol.

hopefully the changes were correctly applied.

i use forscan infrequently, so it's entirely conceivable that i did something wrong. but it seems if the icons were visible they should be functional.
