Hey Johnny - what kind of machine are you bench pressing on? Can't say I've ever seen one like that - 396 is about 100 lbs better than I've ever done - great job!!

That’s a isometric bench press. Works best for chest and less strain in the shoulders. It’s individual live weights and starting from the compressed position so no need for spotting. The angles of the bars are also angled for less shoulders. I’ve done two 356 lb reps and 4 306 lb reps

Thank you for the reply! It definitely appears as if it would put less strain on the shoulders. I have mostly free weights with the only machines being a Hammer Strength squat/lunge and a vertical leg press. Otherwise it's the old fashioned way for me! My best bench was 305 but nowadays I max out at 185 so I don't hurt my worn out shoulders!

19 Roush RS3 P2, 6 speed; Lots of suspension work
66 in April. Started driving in 73 and was a Mopar fan. Built a 72 Charger with a 69-340 motor. Didn't know what I was doing-but learned a lot along the way. Went to college-married -kids and 20 years in the service-civilian job-kids college-weddings all obstacles to having the means to get back into fast cars that were mine. Now on my second Mustang. 1st was a 19 GT PP and did a lot of suspension work myself. You tube and an iPad made for rapid learning curve. Traded up and now have 19 Roush RS3 again doing all my own work with exception of Roush Tunes.

My only regret is why didn't get back into fast cars sooner :).

Wondering about the insulation in the trunk and under the back seat. Is it for road noise sound proofing, and if so does it work?
Too much tire noise on some road surfaces for me, sometimes I can barely hear my H-Pipe delete....... 🤷🏼‍♂️

70.5 here but who's counting.....
My 2020 GT a10 301A package with the active exhaust and some other voice something or other, is my 5th Mustang, and by far the most exhilarating.
I mean GotDAMN this thing is fast.
Others are doing things for more HP, I'm trying to figure out how to use what it came with....
Anyway I had an 88 5.0 LX hatchback 5sp new.
An identical 90, new.
Then took 26 years off, thinking I'd out grown the need for speed.
But I was wrong, it never goes away!
So I bought an 04 GT vert in 2016 with only 28k miles on it.
Then an 05 GT coupe also 12 years old with 28k miles.
Kept it for 4 years and sold it January a year ago for exactly what I'd paid for it and bought this 2020 used with 2900 miles on it.
Bought it sight unseen from a Ford dealership in Detroit Michigan, because GRABBER LIME, 🤷🏼‍♂️ and had it shipped to the Texas hill country.
And I LOVE this thing.
And as an aside to you two 73 year olds benching 300-400 pounds, dayum! 😳
I've been pumping iron for close to 60 years, still hitting it 4 or 5 times a week, I'm in good shape, but y'all putting me to SHAME!
Carry on gentlemen and BRAVO!!! 👍

Cool. You joined this forum on my birthday! Anyway, like you, I probably won't be doing anything more to boost the power because if it wasn't for the traction control, it'd be hard to control the monster. It's the most powerful car I've owned (not the most powerful I've driven since the other year I drove a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spyder that was really cool). Considering that these have more power and speed than a '70 Chevelle SS396 and gets much, much better gas mileage (not to mention handles tons better) one can't be anything but happy driving these cars. The best line I read in this thread was the quote that I have to grow old but I don't have to grow up. We're just big boys that love our toys!

I wanted to cut down on road noise. It helped a bit. It added about 35 lbs., if that’s a concern.
