So I installed my hood struts today. Awesome product. However those little plastic pins came out of my fingers and drop down into the engine bay. So now I've got one out of three. Anyone know the part number on this?

I'm sure they sell tons every year. Thousands of us all over Creation, dropping those blasted pins and losing them. I thought they'd stay in the cover, but no.

BTW, on the advice of others, I also bought proper fender covers, to help keep from dropping and losing things. CJ sells nice ones, reasonable price, with logos and all.

I also own a "grabber".

I'll have to do a bunch of investigation later on tonight after my son goes to sleep and I get some time in front of my computer to myself. Not ordering anything right now cuz I'm going out of town for a week but when I get back they'll be in the cart waiting LOL

I removed mine and used push/pull christmas tree trim plugs that you can buy much cheaper than the originals and the are easier to get a grip on when necessary. They also look like they should have been there in the first place., you just need the right size.
I figured sticking with the OE plug was just going to result in constant losses.

Get them at your dealer, I think they sell 12 for just under 10 bucks.

I ordered them from a Canadian Ford dealership in Hamilton. The shipping from CJ Pony Parts was $40.00 to Canada and the 4-pack was $13.00 LOL However it gave me the part # so that is all I needed. Thanks much fellas!

When I was shopping axle nuts all the usual players were in the 30 dollar range each. I think I paid 10 at the dealer, tax included for both.

Always check the dealer, some times things are cheaper.

Yeah, the local Ford Dealership (local being relative) was like $2.50 per so $7.50 for the three that I wanted.

I followed this forum for quite a while before I ordered my '20, and I read more than one story of people losing these retainers to the Black Hole. When I got my car, I carefully removed the pins, bagged and tagged 'em, and put them in a safe place. Two years with no pins and no problems. The cover sits right where it should, and I can easily access the battery. With the hood closed there's no room for the cover to move anyway.

My OCD won't allow this.
