I make 56k a year. Recently turned 25 years old, married with no kids. Graduated from college with an engineering degree in June of 2013. I actually "settled" for a job at this income level. It offered other benefits (location, work schedule, etc.) that just made life better for my situation. Situation is changing though and now I can move onto a company I really want to work for. I will have much better pay and benefits (retirement, vacation, etc.). All told its like the equivalent of over a 35% raise starting. Also moving from no raises/promotion potential to annual raises with promotion potential.

Edit: Granted I don't have the job yet, still have to get it. I do have a pretty big shoe in for multiple positions though.

It's all good. I hope the guy gets his Mustang and makes more money than the rest of us ass holes hehehe
I'd have to win the lottery...

But realistically it isn't that far away, I'm going to get three raises by the end of the year, and get promoted around April (which is when an even bigger raise comes into play), as long as my numbers keep going up (and they are, I've been kicking some ass at work). Plus the cost of living in my area is dirt cheap.

Heres the reality of salaries:

Me: 26, part of an AA degree, currently a contract security officer for a major hotel in waikiki. i gross 25k a year (good luck living on 25k a year in Hawaii, its IMPOSSIBLE) Only reason why i can do it is because I still live at home. But this year ill gross 30k because of overtime. No, i cannot afford rent, yet i have a car payment.

Lesson to anyone under 20 thinking of dropping out of school: Don't. Worst mistake i ever made. Look at where I'm at now. And the job market here sucks so bad that unless you work in a trade or healthcare you aren't getting anything. You'll take a low wage hospitality job. And good luck getting those too, you have to pretty much know someone in the hotels to get in.

Started off at 42k straight out of college in 2000
Now over 2.5x's that and I'm still hesitant on dropping 40k on a new mustang.

I do pretty well financially and yet it's always tough dropping any dollars on a car since it depreciates immediately the minute you drive it off the lot. ;-)

Just turned 30, working in IT as a senior sys admin and make a comfortable six figure income including bonus.
Wife has her own business, property management. Makes money, amount which I cannot disclose. :)
This is my first mustang and american car purcahse since I have been able to drive (15 years young). I am coming from luxury performance car segment, into the true blue collar performance vehicle given I can get so much more for my money. Hopefully I made the right choice with the GT premium, it was either a Q50, 435i or GT. That goes to say a lot about this car, I sort of fell in love once I drive the v8. Previously I had a G35, then a G37 and neither are slow cars. I cant wait for January 2015.....
