FWIW, I've never had a dealer refuse a warranty claim due to anything I had installed. However, I've also never had an engine or driveline failure claim to make. I feel like it's a gray area. My dealer assures me that since I bought the car from them, they take care of things like warranty on modded cars.... but that's obviously verbal and a sales tactic.
If you have a major powertrain failure, it has to be approved by Ford for warranty work. I guarantee you Ford will not warranty your Roush supercharged car for 8years/100k miles. I would read your ESP warranty coverage and the Roush coverage very closely before making any decisions if warranty is a concern for you.
I do not believe this is true. The 3/36 Roush warranty is for their parts only. The rest of the car is still handled under either the 3/36 or 5/60. That's why you get the Roush. It keeps your factory warranty intact.
Thank you @wazslow, I was incorrect and I stand corrected. But the warranty says "optional". Does it come with the SC or do you have to pay more for it?You don't keep your factory Ford warranty. It's replaced with Roush's warranty.
If you scroll a little further through the pdf, it looks like it's $995 for the powertrain warranty coverage.
OK, this is what I was thinking about when I misspoke about the SC. Ford Performance warranties their parts while everything else is still covered by your factory warranty.
