My dogs ride in the backseat of my Mustang and I wanted to protect the seats with a cover. What would be a good seat cover to use for the back? Thank you

Do you currently have cloth or the "leather" seats?

What are you going to cover/protect the rest of the interior with?

I have cloth seats. I’m not too worried about protecting the front seats because my dogs won’t be sitting there. They’ll be sitting in the back seats when they ride in the Mustang.

Yeaaaah.....no. Dogs go where they want, climb all over what they want, scratch up interior panels and consoles, and shed fur all over everything.

What was your previous vehicle?

we use the seat belt harness attached to their vest so they don’t move around during the car ride. It works pretty well and we’ve been doing that since They were puppies. Our other vehicle is a Silverado Trail Boss. We’d be using the mustang to bring our dogs around rarely but wanted to protect the back as much as we can.

Do they ride with you frequently so you want a semi-permanent solution, like a fitted cover that goes over the seat? Or is a bed sheet/blanket an option?

(FWIW, My dogs don't get to ride in the Mustang so I don't do either of these)

I got a huge black beach blanket/towel and it tucks into the edges and the back of the seat well and stays in place with the windows down (when driving without the dogs). It covers everything and just hangs over the front edge down past the seat portion but not so much that its piled on the floor. Wife got it for me, so I'm unsure of the purchase place or exact size. Was not super expensive though from what she said.

If you go on Amazon they sell dog hammocks that go in the back seats. Works well and prevents access to the front part of the car.

I just bought a subaru and they sell a harness that attaches to the seat belts maybe it would work with the Mustang. I'm going to look into it. It also supposedly prevents injury in case of an accident.
