Is it possible to permanently disable these features on the Mach 1 without having dash lights lit and/or having to use the menu every time you start the car?

Yeah, that's not really the question I intended to ask.

1) If I do that once, does it stay disabled permanently, or will it come back on at every key cycle?

2) Is the same true for the other "assist" functions?

Lane assist will stay shut off.

BLIS, you mean the lights on the mirrors that come on? if yes, then I've not tried to shut them off so I'm of no use to you for that one. :p

Lane Assist remains off unless you press the button again, page 193 of manual.
What else actually comes on often enough to want to turn it off?

Lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring will stay off once disabled. Emergency braking however will default to on every time you start the car. The best you can do is set it to low so it will give the least amount of space before the bells and whistles start screaming at you.

That stinks. Clearly the Ford design team never drove in Chicago traffic.....

Thanks for the clarification - that's exactly what I was looking to understand.

I thought similarly. One day someone in NY without functioning brake lights lane changed in front of me and slammed on the brakes on the interstate (insurance fraud anyone?). It saved me an accident.
Still annoys me, but that one time probably paid me back for all the annoyance. Not disagreeing with you, just trying to soften the annoyance.
