They dont make any that fit a magnaride car, at least not the GT. Have already talked to them and checked several other co. Now with that being said I believe it was Goodridge that told be they were working on making some for the magnaride cars so maybe they finally got done. It has been a couple months.
Hi Chuck. Did you ever hear any more re the lack of braided brake lines for MagneRide GTs. I have sent Goodridge a couple of email inquiries but I am not getting a reply from them.

No not really. And I have a even harder time with it because I have the PP2 with magneride. I've asked on a few web sites and never get an answer. So I've pretty much given up for now.

Cool, I'll have to check them out then. Could you post the part number for the lines the said would work on the PP2? Thanks

We do not get the PP2 in Australia. Mine would be close equivalent to your PP1. Brembo brakes and MagneRide. Steeda only list one version of their braided lines which are meant to be suitable for all. Part number 555 6027 .

Didn't realize you were down under. I've actually been to Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs and Townsville. Yeah. I've seen them listed for PP1s but there's some brackets and things different in the PP2. I may have to look for some for the GT350 size a lot of parts in the suspension area is from the 350 for my car. Thanks for the info though.

Hey Jim, here is perhaps another option for you to consider. Spiegler from Essex Parts. IIRC there was issue w/fitment of earlier design from Goodridge and a change was made. This was few yrs. ago when looking for S.S. lines for my '16 GT350. I now do have frt/rear Spiegler lines for my 2020 GT350 but not yet installed. I was told by trusted source these Spiegler do indeed fit.

Now whether or not braided S.S. lines are actually 'needed' or will yield dramatic improvement to brake feel is certainly questionable; I get that. A prudent upgrade though perhaps?

I've used the Goodridge hoses on prior vehicles. Granted there's the cost factor involved, but you're also putting on hoses that are designed to resist extreme pressures over a standard hose if/when that hose is being used during timed events where maintained high speeds AND extreme are relevant.

Also if the car is to be used for tracking events, the owner should also consider a better brake fluid too. I'm a fan of and use the ATE brand.

If the vehicle is only used for normal street driving, braided brake hoses will be of no value.

Slightly off S550 topic, but on topic regarding brake hoses....

This link contains some really interesting and excellent tech info about the major manufacturers and brake hose design, development and testing. You'll find it's a really good read - but it is a lot to digest for those that don't have patience or say the focus for intense and larger articles.

Consider the braided line a safety feature not a performance enhancer. Braided lines will reduce the hose expansion but doubtful you will feel it.

The Ford Brake fluid is DOT 4 and is at least as good as the ATE. There is no reason to change it out except as the age and use requires. Then, yes, I would look at the aftermarket.

Steel braided lines won't fail like rubber hoses can at track temps.

Hi All,

So like @PKs, I am researching this. i.e. Stainless Braided brake lines for 18+ S550 GTs (PP1 with 6 Piston Brembo's and Magnaride)

I already bought a set of the Goodridge “branded” lines (P/N: 12366) for S550 but I’ve not got around to fitting them yet. The site I got them from says they fit all year S550's.

Unfortunately we now know this is incorrect when related to Magnaride fitted cars. And since we do not get PP2 spec' cars here, sorry I can’t speak for them and the rest of our research.

Goodridge (main sites but not other retailers) have now changed their website information. (A bit late since I’ve bought them now)

We also looked into HEL lines. I called them yesterday and they said their current S550 GT product (P/N: FOR-4-687) also is NOT for Magnaride cars, and they also said it does not come with any brackets like others have on web photos. They have calls into parent company/manufacturers but advised it may be a long wait.

Re' Steeda, (P/N: 555 6027) (also confirmed made by Goodridge verbally and IAW spec' sheet provided by retailer below), I have two tickets in with them to ask very direct and specific questions about their braided lines for Magnaride fitted PP1 GT's but as yet have no response.

I called a local AUS distributor yesterday (who also fits them ) and they advised re’ the Steeda lines WRT Magnaride PP1 fitment, “the rears fit fine, but on the front there is an OEM brake line bracket that will come off with the OEM line, but this is not needed when you put the new ones on”. This concerned me a bit, and I’ve yet to find further explanation on this on the web or YouTube. Unfortunately the Steeda fitting instructions are “light on” and don’t distinguish any different models in their instructions.

It’s not rocket science, but it would be nice to understand why you may leave out parts that OEM's use….

Then there are the different web photos on different sites of supposedly the same Steeda P/N item. (At least three different that I have seen) It’s common for this to happen with product changes etc. and various sites not using the latest updates, but some hard facts in writing with the latest photos would be nice to clear up the confusion.

Any Steeda guys on here, @Steeda Tech JohnC , @Steeda UK , @SteedaTech that can categorically update the forum with the latest facts on their brake lines and fitment for Magnaride PP1's? (and there is also interest for Magnaride PP2's, and Mach1's fitment as well)
Latest product photos, fitted and unfitted, would be nice too.

As mentioned by @WD Pro in discussion, given the Mach1's introduction with its “similar“ config', and track focus, there may be more demand. As such one would hope all the myths would be dispelled sooner than later so we can stop wasting money on things that people say will fit our cars, that actually don't.

Being an early adopter can be frustrating, so any definitive help from those who have actually done this would be greatly appreciated.

@SteedaTech @Steeda UK

TJ, anyone from Steeda?
I just received this info from our tech team - I apologize for the delay:

Not all magne-ride models use the extra bracket. He is referring to the bracket on each side that attaches the line to the strut. None of the after-market brake line kits that I have seen use/reuse this bracket.

As far as export cars being different, we have not seen or had our hands on an export model, so it is very difficult to say what changes have been made.

If the brake lines are installed correctly, making sure they will not contact any moving parts, they will function with no issues.

Let me know if I can help assist further - we do have Robbie in the U.K. that may be able to assist further - https://www.steeda.co.uk/
