Wow, what a great example of the one of the root-causes of the issues being discussed here! Too bad you can't even see it!
See what? You had it removed. I've no idea what set you off, but knowing the OP of the message you had removed I rather doubt he was talking politics. It may be a subtle difference to you though, so I can understand your confusion.

@CJJon thank you. We had this information. But it is what it is.
Indeed. Some people can't be reached. All of the people who refuse to get vaccinated that then end up in the hospital pretty much universally state they made a big mistake in not getting it. Even personalities that make their living spouting anti-vax nonsense come around when hooked to a vent.

The big problem is the variants and break-through cases. Even fully vaccinated are at risk from a milder course of Coivd. Unvaxxed people do not set foot in my house.

PS I was obviously referring to your post, not the blatantly political one which was removed. Have a great day!

I should note that when I showed my wife this thread she reminded me that one of my daughters allergies is eggs and that she also has asthma. I guess there is no black and white, just many shades of gray.

My only wish is that those whose only reason not to get vaccinated is "because" go speak to their doctor. Not because I want to tell people what to do, only so they do not get the dangerous virus.

Ahh that is not such a problem then. Egg and egg proteins are not used in the AZ, Moderna nor Pfizer vaccines and so there is no risk there for an egg allergy. This is not the case with some flu vaccines which do contain egg related proteins and can be a severe risk to those with an egg allergy.

The risk to asthmatics is minimally higher than the general population, but your doctor is correct in advising having the vaccine in a hospital. This is not because it is a big risk, but more an abundance of caution because of the incredibly small chance of her having a problem and they will be able to act at once.

This is the UK advice page for allergies and COVID vaccination which I hope will be of use to you. As always ultimately take the advice of your doctor who is legally responsible for her care and not some keyboard warriors!

What does eggs have to do with it? The Covid mRNA vaccines are not made with eggs like the flu vaccine. There is not a trace of eggs in them. Again, it is a very small number of people who the vaccine is truly contraindicated. Unless one is allergic to the specific ingredients then true anaphylaxis is exceedingly rare.

The EUA for the vaccines require us to have emergency safeguards in place where we give our patients the vaccine.

Hospitalization is a bit much for a controlled asthmatic, IMO.

With an allergy history (even if egg allergy is not a factor) you would want to know full details of any tests done and allergies confirmed before making any professional recommendations. In addition the asthma would need to be assessed in terms of severity and medication - Well controlled asthma does not put you at a higher risk of severe COVID disease, but poorly controlled does. Again proper medical advice is the only appropriate source of information for the individual.

I think 'hospitalisation' in this sense is actually an outpatient clinic for the vaccination where you can closely monitor recipients after vaccination. So rather than using a mass vaccination site it may be at a local hospital outpatient clinic. This is how it is done in the UK.

Who are these 'all-qualified' individuals who think man-made global warming is a hoax?
Nice twist on the subject. We were talking about Dr's (the qualified people) and covid vaccines

This is exactly what I did. I was advised against getting it. One reason is because I had the covid and recovered.
