I actually think it does a pretty good job of demonstrating that in some cases science really is dead as a dodo. Personal opinion is more important than scientific facts.

We live in a world where one's opinion must be honored no matter how kooky. Feelings trump reason. All that 'agree to disagree' crap has taken root.

Opinions are fine, but if they are not informed opinions then keep them to yourself !

There are occasions where 'agree to disagree' may be appropriate, for example when a decision has to made where there is insufficient data available to properly inform the process and a subjective route has to be agreed on - and there may be two perfectly appropriate but different routes available. This often happens in business.

However in this case where there is overwhelming data presented which is countered by uninformed personal opinion then no - I do not 'agree to disagree' as the alternative viewpoint is wrong and can be proven as such.

It's a bit like some of the rubbish on here a while ago about vaccines for COVID. There is good proven data for their efficacy and safety and it is being constantly reviewed and updated. The alternate proposed on here that the sky was going to fall in on those vaccinated is untrue, not backed by the data, and in many cases just fairy stories. As posted above one such deluded individual who was ridiculing the vaccine has now died of COVID. He held an opposing opinion, but no 'agree to disagree' with him which effectively validates his opinion (even though different) - he was quite simply WRONG. Unfortunately our health services still have to spend money trying to save these hopeless idiots just so that his 'opinion' can be honoured.

Clearly not. But at the same time are you happy to pay for morons who ignore medical advice and think they know better? - only to succumb to the very thing they claimed they wouldn't get. You pay for these morons, either through taxes or increased insurance premiums.

The vaccine works - he not only didn't have the vaccine, but actively campaigned against it - and now he is dead. You simply cannot help some people.

He is dead and probably too for at least some of his believers that were swayed away from truth.

Risk your life all day long if you want, just stop encouraging others to do so. That right there is akin to murder, no?

Well she is WRONG as well

The data is there to prove efficacy and safety in all but a very small and discrete number of people who should not have the vaccine. Maybe she is one of those but she should have explained this to you and encouraged you to get vaccinated.

I have plenty of letters after my name in appropriate and relevant subjects and my sister is also a doctor - we were both vaccinated as soon as we could.

My wife is a physician who deals directly with the vulnerable. She was one of the first to be fully vaccinated to do her part. She's a specialist with 12 years of University plus 4 years of residency under her specialty. She understands the science.
