It was mentioned for number-plate purposes but wouldn't one use this material for paint protection on the hood, haunches and other 'splatter' locations? I could see needing to tape over the edge if applied to the leading edge of the hood lest the air lift it... Anyone tried it?

Pretty sure the front fenders are aluminum (so is the hood), so not magnetic. The rear hips of the car and 75% of the roof are exposed to frontal impact, they should be considered as well. Not sure if those components are aluminum.

I literally bought a roll of magnetic material with the intention of using it on the hood a while back. Its definitely aluminum X)

Plus nose & splitter are composite. So useless for leading edge protection, which is where most wear happens.

Still useful for behind the wheels tire splatter protection.
Opps, even there behind the rear tires is composite. So only works for behind the front tires.

In front of the rear tires is where I would put it. Mine collects dings there more than anywhere (but I have Rock Blockz on which do a decent job of protecting some of the other usual spots, like behind the rear wheels).
