I dunno, that still sounds like the "typewriter tick" to me. At least my car makes a similar tapping random sound, which the dealer claims is the "harmless" typewriter tick.

Sounds like piston slap to me, especially if it's mostly prevalent on a cold start.

Yep ... OP, put 1/2 bottle of Ceratec in and see if it disappears like it has for many here.
