I still havent seen a definitive answer to this yet. But will the mach 1 have the 1,000$ gas guzzler tax? I've seen mixed answers, and there seems to be confusion about it, since some window stickers have it, and some don't. I've seen this on both manuals and automatics. Just looking for an answer. Thank you everyone.

I just paid the $1,000. I believe that if the combined mileage is below 22.5 mpg, it applies (the manual is rated at 22 mpg).

This is what is confusing me. People are saying combined milage.. the combined milage on the window sticker isnt close to 22mpg.. the combined milage isnt even in the 20s.

It has a combined estimated 17MPG, which would be a 3500$ gas guzzler tax. Am I missing something? Or am I understanding something incorrectly?

It is just like any TAX, Uncle Sugar picking your pocket. And there is not a damn thing you can do about.
Find something else to worry about LOL
First of all, I will worry about what I worry about, its MY money, and I want to know what is going on with MY money, so I will worry about it.. If you arent going to help answer my question, and you arent going to give any sort of positive feedback, or lead my to a definitive answer and you arent going to contribute to my post in any way, shape or form, please go waste someone else time. Thank you very much, and have a good day.

$1000............ look on the bright side, the GT350's had a $1300 Gas Guzzler Tax:

I guess the 1 extra mile per gallon on the highway for the Mach1 is worth $300 according to some bean counter.

Mine was also "Special Order" but the border color is red, not green?

For what it’s worth, I have not seen a Mach 1 window sticker with a blend date after 1/19/21 that did not have the tax. My suspicion is that the earliest cars built snuck in before the tax was applied to the Mach. All of the ones I have personally seen without the tax where built in the first week of January.

I think that is because the Ford performance cars get red stickers.

So I feel like I'm not understanding something.. this is the chart for the gas guzzler tax.

Screen-Shot-2017-03-23-at-12.06.08-PM.png

And your shelby gt350 gets a combined 16mpg, so why isnt the gas guzzler tax for it 3,700$ I feel like I'm understanding something incorrectly here.

Also, here is a picture I screen shotted from fueleconomy.gov and it says the 10A gets no tax, and the manual does.

It appears to have something to do when the car was built. If it was built in 20’, no tax. Built in 21’, like yours will be, there will be a tax. When asking questions regarding Ford and the government there are no clear cut answers.
You're not wrong about the clear cut answers. Lol. I'm just seeing mixed answers about it. Some say they paid it, some say they didnt. Some said people should look into getting a refund if they paid it, some said be prepared to get hit with the tax later if they didnt pay for it yet. I'm fine with paying it. If I couldnt afford a 1,000$ tax, I wouldn't have bought the car. I just want to know if im keeping 1,000$ in my pocket to go towards other stuff.

Any information is worth something. 🙏 thanks for your time and input. I'll do some digging and see if I can find a recent sticker with no gas guzzler tax to confirm or deny this.

Well what I said about when the car was built appears to be wrong so I pulled my post.

I checked the window sticks of a few Mach 1's in my area. The A10 did not have the tax, the M6's did. The A10 does get 1 MPG more than the M6 so maybe that's your answer. so which one did you order?

I got the A10, but can you explain to me how the gas guzzler tax works? Because I keep thinking its combined MPG, but it seems like they're doing it based on highway MPG? I feel like I'm not comprehending something about this still.. 😒
