I picked up my '19 GT today.

Dealer was 4.5 hours away in VA, so I got to drive the car back 4.5 hours after purchasing it.

I drove my 2017 EB prem, 201A, 6MT, down 4.5 hours, and picked up the GT. Wife drive the EB to ford nearby, and I drove the GT. And for a brief moment in time, I was the owner of two mustangs.

The '19 GT is 401A, 6MT, PP1, active exhaust, and safe&smart.
Even though the two cars were similar other than engine, wow... what a difference.

First. The exhaust... wow... just wow...
Second, I could not put down full throttle, it was a completely different experience from wot on EB.
Third. The exhaust... insane...
Fourth, the car had PP1 and no magneride, it was very comfortable. I thought it would be harsh on the highway. Wife always complains about how my EB was so uncomfortable on highways, and she said the PP1 GT felt very smooth and was more like her Acura MDX than my old '17 EB.
Fifth. That exhaust... I did not get to try the B&O soundsystem because I was listening to the exhaust the ENTIRE 4.5 hours back.

I loved my EB' ('15 &'17), and I just could not imagine myself loving a mustang even more, but apparently it can be done.

Isn't the guttural groan of the rev match on the highway fantastic?

Those cold starts are pretty rowdy. Especially after an H-Pipe. Quiet mode for neighbors is a must where I am.

One year ago I flew to Chantilly VA from Knoxville TN to pick up my 19 GT Vert. What a great day it was! Glad you got to enjoy it!

But no longer, so it's time to change the description of your car in your user profile. 😉

Gotta love the wail of the Coyote at full howl. The AE also helps keep the neighbors happy in the morning.

Congrats. I had a 15 EB and you're right, it IS a very different experience. This engine just loves to be revved out and the exhaust note never gets old. Have fun.

Yes. I practiced double-clutching on downshifts to match rev (I never did understand the difference between holding clutch down while revving up on downshift versus an actual double-clutching, but nevertheless), and I have gotten very good at it on my EB which only rev matched on upshifts.

I will miss manually rev matching on downshifts as I did try turning off rev matching to manually double-clutch, and while I can do a similar job, the rev matching nails rev's every time, perfectly, and I am sure that that will be so much easier on the clutchwear than my own. But yes, the throttle blip is so much more satisfying on this GT.

Also, it was weird. Because of the augmented sound in the EB, the "exhaust note" came from within the cabin, towards front. After driving six years like that, when I got in the GT, it was weird having the exhaust note actually come from outside, BEHIND the car.

Congrats! I have similar experience, had a '16 and '19 EcoBoost Mustang then went to my current GT. Drive the GT like it's an EcoBoost and you're like "what the heck, I don't get it". Rev it out and then it's smiles for miles :D

Yes! I was going to do a nicer post promoting both Battlefield Ford and Bomnin Chevrolet later, but it was indeed Battlefield Ford.
I recognize that wall lol. Same place I found mine a couple months ago. Thankfully they are a bit closer to me. I stopped by on a whim to test drive a manual since I've only driven an auto GT before. They had almost the exact config I was interested in on the lot with only 6mi. Test drove it on a Saturday, came back and bought it the next day.

There was another thread where someone else came down from NY to buy their car there due to the discounts they were offering, and I think someone else chimed in that they came up from NC. I got a great price on my car and the sales staff were some of the best I've ever dealt with. I will be recommending them to anyone that asks.
