Did Ford ever tell us why the GT350 never got the LCD display panel or the ambient lighting features every other Mustang has?

I can live without both, but I kinda miss them.

The LED dash is far more customizable and is quite handy for track use.

I remember reading somewhere that they decided to keep analog gauges as a nod to the heritage of the car. Likely it was more that the budget went into the uniqueness of the GT350 under the Mustang body (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, coolers, etc).

I prefer the analog gauges, just as I prefer mechanical watches. But I did feel the interior being black is poorly lit at night. I changed out the map lights for LEDs and it changes the experience entering and exiting the car at night.

Sport mode, like the TAC in the LCD panel, hitting the mark much easier . Cause it traces the RPMs as they ram up.

My other cars have analog, SW, 360* BK/WHT the preferred style for them.

The GT350 is my first Mustang ever and my first Ford in over 30 years. I’m old so I like the old school (kind of) gauges. Maybe Ford knew most of their GT350 customers would be more seasoned. I actually think it adds to the rawness of the vehicle.

Although I was 20 years late to experience the original Shelby dynasty, I was able to get a taste back in the 80’s. I have always been a fan for the analog style gauges and 3 pedals. I had my start, and I will end the journey the same...

Could be just me but I think it would be pretty weird to have a LCD instrument panel with a car that has a manual transmission.

I can understand if its an automatic but I can't really think of any cars with a manual transmission with the LCD screen except for the Bullit and the lower trim Mustangs. I am kind of glad that they didn't put it in because I hate how the screen shows your RPM numbers constantly.

I also like analog displays, and I don't like to see the exact rpm numbers during normal driving either, but the trackmode tachometer is really well thought out I think. Even though it's implemented via an lcd, it's really an analog-style display, and IMO, an improvement over the traditional analog tachometer. Really simple and easy to read.

I first started using it while breaking in the engine, as I wanted to keep the rpm below 4000. It's really easy and quick to see if that's the case in the trackmode display, and likewise it's quick to see when I'm approaching redline (not yet enough experience at high rpm to hear it).

I would also expect that Ford kept the LCD panel as a feature for the GT500 to further delineate it from the GT350.

These digital displays have really evolved in a good way since the early 80’s...
