I have done 6 track days, half were six 25-30 min long sessions on my rears now. They felt great last day but I’m worried they are close to heat cycling out (plenty tread). I have a full set of spare CF wheels for my R less one rear which got cracked as I’ve posted about here...

so the question is if my rear starts sliding badly next track session, could I mount my 2 spare 305 fronts to the rear to finish the day? I don’t care about appearance but wondering if this would cause rubbing or other problems with different offset?

otherise maybe putting the one spare rear on the back would let me finish the day with a little less rear slip. (Yes I’m a penny pincher so understand I should just change rear tires before but I’m trying to calculate exactly when they heat cycle out).

I think they'd stick out about an inch, and could then contact your quarter potentially with enough body lean or just in a quick bump.... test fit and see what you think....

LIke @jmn44 said, I doubt it would work. The difference in offset is just about double; just look at what big the hub is on the front wheels.
But I would be surprised if they heat cycle before they get shaved...
Here are my rears after 2 track days and 4500 miles all up:

And just 4 kicks, here are the fronts ( I know, I need more camber):

Exactly. And remember, you will be going down in size as well (305 from 315) and (11 from 11.5 inch wheel). And are you using stock lugs? Off the top of my head, I don't think you will get the same thread engagement... But to know for sure, you need to jack up the car and test fit.

I would be hard pressed to chance something like that... Especially if you plan on going back out and finishing the track day like that. After the first heat and show bad wear, your going to run like stated for 3 more heats?

DUH! ^^^ what he said, i think you'd need longer studs to make it work even if you weren't scared of hitting the quarter panel lip.....

Thanks guys for the quick feedback. I’ll skip that idea. My only prior time pushing it was 8 days on the rear and they heat cycled. I’ll plan to just change the rears after the 7th day to not worry about it. Ruining a track day is more expensive than losing a little potential tire wear.
