Just finished up swapping a 18+ Rear Bumper on my 2017 Gt so I figured I would gather up all the information needed incase someone else would like to do so. Originally I had just cut my stock diffuser to fit my Roush active exhaust but I was never fond of how it looked nor did I like the look of any of the aftermarket quad tip valances.

This swap is compatible with any 15-17 Mustang. Keep in mind you will be required to run a quad tip exhaust with this diffuser.

Note there is one modification that needs to be made to the 18+ rear bumper. Ford changed the style of mounting tab by the outer side of the taillights. On the 18+ rear bumper grind down the ridges on the tab and cut a slit to match the tab on the 15-17 rear bumper.

Known Exhausts that will fit with no modification needed are the following:
15-17 Roush active exhaust
Any 15-17 Corsa exhaust with Corsa quad tips
Any 18+ Mustang gt exhaust

From the 15-17 Rear Bumper you will be able to reuse the following:

License Plate Lights
Trunk Release Button
Reverse Sensors
Wiring Harness
Side Marker Lights

Parts needed to put 18+ Rear Bumper on 15-17 Mustang (I purchased my parts from @LevittownFordParts )

About $1200 with paint. Keep in mind I did all the test fitting and install and only brought the bumper cover to the body shop.

I was wondering about this myself. Glad someone tackled it (and documented it). Need some 18+ tails to go with it!

Agreed. Thinking about the 18+ euro taillights with a very light tint.

They're sold that way from the aftermarket VLAND brand if you don't want to mess with tint strips. I have the untinted ones myself.

A drill bit and a file. Sand the ridges so they are nonexistent.

I can only verify the numbers I used. Check with your dealer to see if its the same thing. Possibly could be an updated number.

Did the 15-17 crash bar fit fine?
I didn't end up buying it guy told me it was for a 15-17 so decided not to go with this swap he had it for $50 which was a steal compared to $100 on any online site plus another 100 for shipping

So I found a bumper for around 300. Not sure how much damage it looks like it’s just scuffed from other pics but local shop told me it would cost 500-700 to strip and paint

Yes. The 15-17 crash bar is the same for 18-20

If you have to get it painted anyways you might as well spend the extra money on a new cover and diffuser from ford so you don't have to worry about getting the bumper repaired.
