Just recently picked up a PP2 Mustang last week and I currently have 250 miles on it. I hear a popping noise when I turn the wheel full lock while backing up. It sometimes happens when I'm going forward as well. Only does it during cold starts. I think it might be the tires just being cold and having sat for awhile but I'm not sure. Anyone having this issue or might know what's causing it? I tried searching the forums but I couldn't find any information on it.

Never heard it from mine BUT I never drove it on the Cup 2 tires. They were changed to P4S before I picked up the car.

Most likely the tires as many tires like those have warnings not to use if exterior temps are 50*-42* or below. The tire compound becomes extremely hard in very cold weather and causes the tire to skip across the pavement when making slow turning maneuvers - almost feels like and sounds like you’re on a driveway of stones.

Yea I think that's what's happening. After a short drive it stops happening. Only happens when after it's been sitting. And no stone driveway just a regular concrete driveway. I think I just need to get new tires for daily driving.

Mine did it too and it went away when I replaced the tires. I went with RE71s and no more noise.

Cold cup2 or extreme high performance summer tires can cause popping noises when you are turning
