Interesting. I’ve never heard that rule. I consistently run 12.6 - 12.9 at Milan and have never been asked about a roll cage. Ironically, my avatar picture was taken during staging for one of those runs.
I'm surprised that Milan hasn't said anything to you. Tech always asked me how quick I expected to be, and then checked for my 6 point roll bar.
Did Milan again last weekend. They made sure I had a helmet and then off we went. Car #8 on the slips. There were some slips over 13, but nobody’s ever gonna see those. Trying out more aggressive launch techniques to improve my 60’. Failed miserably. FWIW, DA was in the 1,700s and my tire pressures were street...34 psi all around.

We’re pretty much running the same ETs. I was in the 12.60-12.8x range at 108 when I went a few weeks ago. 60’ times were in the 1.89-2.0x range. My tuner said the 93 in my area isn’t great so he was a little conservative with my tune. I found one station in my area with E85 so we’re working on an E30 tune to take care of the fueling issue. I hope to be in the 12.30-12.40 range on street tires when I go back to the track. I’ve been looking into drag wheels and tires but I don’t know if I want to spend the money then end up at a point where they tell me I can’t make anymore passes until I have a cage. I figure tires would shave off another 2 tenths plus they would keep it consistent.

Excellent times for an Ecoboost! Does E85 help that much? I will eventually convert to E85, but not until I’m out of warranty. That’ll be a while. I’ll probably go E85, headers, and axle-back. Until then I’m bone stock plus a CAI

E85 can make a huge difference with forced induction. My car feels much better with E30. Naturally aspirated cars with lower compression may not see as much of a difference.

Great info here, thanks everyone for sharing. Can you give details on what year/mods/tires/transmission you have to run these mid-high 12 times?

2018 Mustang Ecoboost convertible A10 - NX2 Turbo, K&N Filter/Airaid Intake, Cobb Accessport with PD custom tune, NGK Plugs, MAP Intercooler, CVF Aluminum Intercooler pipes, 3" MBRP catted downpipe and a Turbosmart BOV. My tune was kind of conservative when I ran 12.69 @ 108.87. I'm currently on my 5th revision for an E30 tune. The car felt good then. It feels MUCH better now!!! I might run it one more time on street tires. I'll have to play with it a little on the street to see if it will be worth trying. I don't want to drive 120 miles each way then not be able to get any traction.

If they ask you to slow down, just run with the top down
I just noticed in your signature that you have a trailer hitch on your Mustang convertible. Guess that makes you my brother from another mother. I have the same hitch on my Camaro convertible. Freaks people out (if they even notice it). I use mine for carrying my bike around. How do you use yours?

Are you getting much wheel hop? How do you modulate the launch and first gear throttle? I haven't ran mine at track but you hear all kinds of stories of horrific wheel hop in the S550.

I've also read about people getting bad wheel hop but I don't get any at all. I bring the RPMs up to about 2200 then let it go. My 60' times have ranged from a best of 1.87, bunch of 1.9s and 2.0s and a few in the 2.1 range.

Right on. Full clutch drop and pedal down or slipping it through 1st gear?

It's an A10 so off the brake and pedal to the floor.
