Let's for discussion say that's correct, so that leaves 190 lbs to cross the 4000 lbs mark. Supercharger, coolers, larger brakes and the DCT, I'm thinking that's at least 200 lbs. That's not factoring in the larger wheels/tires (which may be lighter/offset by the CFTP flavors).

I think it's going to __really__ close with the CFTP, between 4000 and 4100, and the base will weigh another 100-110 lbs (4x CF wheel difference, rear seat delete). Are the hood or fenders any lighter? vs. a GT350?
Didnt they already state the 500s 20s weigh the same as the 350s 19s? if you can tell me the tire brand and sizes, for each spec, i can get the weights. im making a new post on that subject right now actually

Yeah, I can't remember if that was CF vs. CF or a base wheel spec comparison. It's probably pretty negligible anyway, that's why I said most of the weight difference is supercharger, coolers, DCT. Like I said in another post, I don't think at the end of the day, 100lbs here or there makes that much of a difference (you know, until the weight difference is massive, like 500-600 lbs). It'll be fast as f***, and maybe just eat pads and tires a little quicker :D

My take on the interview:

1. Video could have been shorter with better impact - yes it's not a Spielberg production I get it
2. Car is heavy but a s ton of fun - still want one
3. Billy likes working for Ford and is loyal to his employer. I don't blame him and i think he's candid about the car
4. My interpretation is he loves the GT350 on the track and would want a GT500 elsewhere
5. Buying a GT350 or GT500 will put a smile on your face - just know what you want.

GT500 carbon fiber wheel weighs the same as a GT350R wheel.

Below are the tire sizes.
I believe the GT500 wheels are,
10.5 front width.
11 rear width.
And of course 20 inch in diameter.
Edited to add carbon fiber wheels weigh about 18 pounds apiece.

which is? Also, what are the wheel sizes for each, if you know

I love all the GT350s, Ford GTs, & GT500s on track. However, the GT500 Carbon Package is the fastest Mustang ever around a track. It's quite competent, fun to drive, and at home pounding around lap after lap without overheating or burning the tires or brakes off the car. Did I mention it's fast?

Thanks for doing the interview Billy.
When will the weight be revealed or will it be whenever magazines get to test the car?

Billy - thanks for the reply and making this the best Mustang yet. I had no idea you’d read let alone respond to my input. You just earned a long time follower/supporter. If you’re in Indy look me up! I also help put on Carmel Artomobilia in Carmel IN. www.artomobiliaweekend.com. Come join us! Last year we highlighted the Ford GT - check out our website for the photo we took!

I asked lethal to ask about a track tour, like the 350 had.. didnt hear that brought up..

I suppose Ill go ahead and start scheduling for my own Fast Ford Funday at Pocono, Next August ( either 9th or 16th, not sure how Pocono shifts the dates - forward or backward). South Course for turns and tri-oval for street/roll racing.

You sure? The gt500 sports 20" all around. Doesnt the gt350r have 19" rear wheels?
Yes. The 20 inch GT500 carbon fiber wheels weigh the same as the 19 inch GT350R wheels.
Mustang chief engineer Carl Widmann said so.

Hard to believe a wheel larger in not only diameter but width is the same weight. Did they use a better carbon resin for the gt500 wheels?
I remember the gt350r wheels and thinking they weren't that light. There are viper wheels (sidewinder II that are close in weight despite being a larger width wheel). Also wheels meant for the track built by forgeline. Maybe carbon revolution has improved the gt500 wheels?

Billy is under contract with Ford. He will not say anything bad about the car ... he can't ... hell, he can't even give his opinion on IG when it comes to simple mods.
