The pilot super sports work great as a noob track tire/dd, they make good grip wet & dry, they're forgiving as well. Working my way through my second now.

295 & 305 4S tire sound like a good bet too.

If you look for 305/30/19 tires the options open up quite a bit.
would changing tire size as you suggest mess with any of the factory software setting on the car set up.
Also I don't believe the 4S comes in the stock GT350 tire size?

I doubt it... the speedo would be slightly off, but there are a LOT of people running the 305/30/19 as it's really the only option for a lot of the better tires.

correct. it's a bit shorter sidewall, so expect to see more fender to wheel gap and the car will be slightly lower to the ground. If autocrossing competitively, there's really not a 35 ratio tire option that I'm aware of.

The 305/30/19 is oem size for the front of an R though... so look at an R if you are curious how it will look!

This is very helpful. I due the Porsche Club DE days (about 10x a year) but I know the Cup2 tires that come on the 2019 GT350 (because I had them on a Porsche Cayman I owned) are not good in rain, wear quickly and aren't very good on the street as they are a magnet for every little rock.
So if I understand you correctly on my non R I can run the 305-30-19's front and back without issue? any difference in handling or steering felt with the different size? I guess since the R uses that size couldn't I also go with the 30 and go larger in the rear (315)?
I called tire rack and they only recommended the factory size...probably for liability reasons.

the R wheels are 1/2" wider on both ends, personally i'd stick with 305 on the oem size 350 wheels, but guessing the 315 on rear would be fine too. I'm unsure if the good tire choices have 315/30/19 as an option though, you'd just have to look at the tires you want to run and see.

i can report that in heavy rain this morning. it took an act of congress to get my tires to spin on wet concrete or pavement. you have to be dumb to lose grip in them. other than that, price and longevity is good.

315 is almost impossible to find except for Hoosiers and the Cup 2's.

im running Nitto NT555G2s they lasted forever on my old car and on my R replica wheels they should last just as long. great in the rain (enough rain to rip off the front fang) and not very noisy. fronts are 285 not 295 so they are a tiny bit smaller in width and diameter but for the price you cant beat em in my opinion.
I can validate this too that 285 on the NT555 G2 works on the front. I got 6K so far. Still at 7/32. Came with 9/32 initially. No mileage or mph discrepancies.

anyone have experience with the Toyo Poxes 1 in 305 30-19. I had the tires on a 964 Carrera 4 and they were terrific. Not sure how they would be on the gt350?

Randy, Nice to hear from you. yes I have seen it run at DE. What tires are you running?...Street and track? The new car comes with the Cup 2 and I don't think I want to use those for every day driving. But choices are limited unless I move away from the standard factory size. My Cayman R had Michelin 4S and Pilot Sports both of which I liked for all around use. ??

actually love them in the wet. They need to come up to temperature and I add 2 pound to my normal start pressure, but they do hook up quite well.
