yeah the tvs,s dont really whine much, i'm running a 82mm pulley and only hear it a tiny bit .. if you run open air box you'll hear it more but your intake temps will be high at stand still
I saw many people take the intake box off would you recommend that ?

I have a Roushcharged 15 GTPP, 79mm upper stock roush airbox same HE and T-stat you have... I love the whine myself but unfortunately the roush blowers don't really whine until you get down in pulley size even then its not much I barely hear mine same axlebacks and I have a xpipe which makes the car really loud!! I would for SURE get the VMP intake air temp sensor it gives you real IAT temps which are very important!! I don't think the roush tune supports it with that being said the difference in tune and power is night and day from roush, roush is a little too conservative, you can get the VMP TB and JLT intake they make a little difference in sound and more power.. hope it works out I've had mine for a while now NO issues if you need any help just let me know!! Good luck have fun man.. be careful LOL
Thank you so much I’m going to google those upgrades now.. I was a tad bit concerned with reliability I have herd mix reviews, so hearing this makes me feel good about the purchase. I’m still waiting to hear back if the 36,000 mile warranty transfer to new owner.. if not I’m gonna get a custom tune done. This is still on the Roush Tune from my understanding

One more thing .. do you recommend I remove the air box cover ?

I tried that with mine and couldn’t hear anything over the Roush exhaust. The intake temps shot up in traffic though.

i take my top off the roush intake from time to time .. its fine for cruising and nice open runs just really sucks in stop and go traffic

So probably not worth it then.. I’ll keep cover on them since it provides zero benefits

Well that made this decision much easier lol I’ll just get a full blown turn form Stang HI... but now I’m second guessing my self buying the extended warranty offered at dealership.. it only has 9,100 miles and the supercharger was installed by a very reliable specialized stang tuner.. the previous owner was a 68 year old man.. I guess I’ll be okay with no warranty hopefully

It doesn't matter really too much i leave mine on just because of rain, well I don't really drive mine in the rain much but you get what I'm saying, you have a good HE in the car with fans now! Roush one sucks.. its up to you I notice a little more blower whine without the lid but not much, that sound tube is pretty cool I personally would make one.. I would spend my money or more important stuff catch cans, iat harness, tune from a reputable tuner... I don't think the warranty switches over you would have to ask call Gavin at roush he's the go to there. ĂŚ got most power gains from the TUNE/79MM PULLEY on 93oct. No E85 around

I'm guessing you have a roush tune and are reading at the MAF, the REAL IAT reading is post innercooler which to get that you have to get the VMP IAT harness and brass sensor.. It's cheap on their website but it's not compatible with the stock tune.. I had to switch my tuner wouldn't even tune the car without that sensor and harness.. It's important to have real IAT readings anything over 120 is heat soak and your losing massive amounts of power.. the airbox cover being off doesn't change IATs unless it's reading off the MAF which isn't accurate for the blower is where the hottest temps will be.. that's what you want to keep a eye on best of luck have fun these cars are monsters from the get go

I've done a lot of testing on this with sound decibel reader and external and internal mics to record whine. Removal of the hood liner and Airbox lid help a little but not much even when pulled down. Box lid off works on the Dyno for power with hood open, but is a bad idea for street car with hood closed, just too much heat getting sucked in. Whine is projected forward, so stand in front or a mic will pick up whine mounted on the hood, just doesn't transfer inside much without whine mod.

loud outside 3rd gear WOT pass outside pickup. Whipple here, but you get the idea.

Inside before and after Whine mod. And this car has very loud exhaust.

yeah i never get extended on any of my cars .. i don't even take my car to the dealer for anything unless warranty work .. i wrench myself you'll still have ford bumper to bumper you just don't have power train, or the roush 36k
youll be fine my car has 25k on it and its never givin me a hiccup ... and im still on the roush tune as of now ..and i bought the car with 17k on it a yr and a half ago

yeah i took my hood liner out also ,as for running with the lid off.. i have a waterproof cover that goes over the air filter works awesome, when i decide to pop the lid

The W hipple has a much better HE then our Roush blowers do and also has alot more whine then the roush does... your also getting accurate IAT with that kit unlike the factory roush calibration its a little different.. I personally like the whipple better.. I've had mine for years now it's not a everyday car only has 25k on it blower was installed new.. I do all my own work and fabrication but I have very good tuner.. good writeup and great video clips as well

Believe it or not the Roush, or for that matter any TVS based 2.3L screams as loud as whipple with the Whine mod.
