I’m seeing different frequencies listed on the US keys so may be dead in the water before we even start but I’ll keep digging.

Can you not set the car toread the new frequency or keyprogramme it to read different, as long as they mate up, you can maybe get the car to run remote start?

I’ll see what options come up on the IDS, there’s got to be a way to make it work. I don’t like being defeated by cars.

Ok so it isn’t going to work I’m beaten. Key frequency has to be the same as the vehicles Body control module, it can’t be changed. New Body control module from the US will be mega bucks so would be cheaper doing as the OP has done and fit a Clifford with remote start!

So it's doable, just needs a new BCM. Wonder how much that is...

Come on you can be the ginuea pig, can’t see any on US eBay plus there are many different ones depending on spec of the car.

Frequencies are allocated, regulated and licensed. While these are low powered devices I imagine the UK/US keyless/TPM are different for a reason, and not just to p*ss us off.

I’m interested but not fitting a full alarm system to get it working, still reckon it’s do-able with a US key fob and some programming of the vehicle.
Could a US Keyfob be butchered with a U.K one so it uses this frequency

Wait till your left knee explodes, the car stalls and you nearly get crushed by a 38 tonne truck on the M25. (True story, me, August 2016) face: pail as f**k, trousers: brown.

I couldn't get out of a manual fast enough.

Problem with left leg, manifested itself as shooting pains through the left knee cap. I was caught in heavy traffic and had been in it for sometime. Knee was really playing up. Once we started moving again I got up to speed and a few mins later hit more traffic, depressed the clutch and bang, huge amount of pain. Foot came off the clutch, car stalled - truck was approaching from behind which had to brake to avoid a collision.

No harm done, except to my pants. I was in an auto 2 weeks later. (My Focus ST)

I'll trade being manly for being alive.
