Just finished installing the White Madness "universal shifter". It's not as stubby as their original shifter, but I was so paranoid about the paint peeling from the steel ball knob that I decided on this item. It does not include a knob - you buy that separately, from them or someone else. I went with "twisted shifterz" website, where they have hundreds of knobs, and will even make a custom one for you. Install was not hard at all, but I was nervous about breaking stuff while trying to remove the bezel, light connection, etc. Took my time and am very satisfied.

Once the bolt is put on and the strut is attached to the car and the wheels are back on, can you just take a torque wrench and torque it to spec?
On the two that I changed springs on (Pontiac and Honda) the rod would turn before torque was reached so something was needed to hold the rod.

Would you be able to use the Allen wrench and a crows foot attached to the torque wrench?

Both of these had the nut recessed far enough that a crows foot would not reach. Honda has a special tool that would work but by then I already had mine. Not sure how the Mustang strut looks but if a special tool is required I will buy it! :) Don't need much excuse for buying tools.

I like it. After seeing yours, I wish mine as a little longer (my shifter below, that is)

Just something cosmetic. I like how it pops more than the stock EB button.

There is something I want to add though. Just so you guys can learn from my experience. So, when you take the stock button off you have to gently pry it off. In doing so the button will get depressed as the old button comes off. This will most likely cause the car to throw a code. Mine did so I took it to the dealership to have it looked at, not knowing what I know now. When they ran the code, sure enough it was due to the start button being depressed for too long. Just don’t freak out if it happens, it’s an easy fix.

Voodoo, I personally like the short throw better. My Veloster came with a short throw B&M that I loved. And the cue ball is awesome man!

Pass-Thru wrench man, I didn't know why I bought it sooner. 1/2in was big enough in the pass-thru hole where I was about to insert a small socket in it and a secondary wrench to hold the strut. Then use the pass-thru to tighten down by feel of torque. Always works for me and so far, no issues installing and disassembling. Only thing was that its pricey.

Most glued on emblems can be safely taken off with flossing string. A bit of goo gone will remove the left over glue residue.
Debadged the whole car last week. The "GT" is not just glued on and getting to it it is not to hard but you need to be careful removing the rear panel. 5.0 badges are just tape/glue- heat and whatever you want to use to get under them. Pony in front comes off pretty easy.

Hi Voodoo. I recently installed the older style White Madness shifter like yours. I was a little concerned that mine has a slight amount of side to side play in the ball which I didn't see the need for. Is this the same for yours or could mine be faulty.
