Are you running any spacers? How flush are you on those 20” wheels?
I’m loving all your 20” set ups. It seems the consensus is 275(285)/35/20 up front and 305/35/20 in the rear for this 8.5/10 staggered set up. I appreciate all the help.

They're perfect, no spacers, the spec is a 20x10 ET35, 20x11 ET50

Here's a down-the-side angle that gives you a pretty good sense of the fitment (note this is pre-no-grill-plus-Velossa :D):

I also meant to add: while the front-to-rear ratios are the exact same as OEM, the overall height is a touch taller, as a result, my 3:73 stock rear end ratio calculates out to like a ~3:62 (if I recall correctly).

Well, I'd run a 10" wide front and a 11" rear with those sizes, otherwise, I might downsize just a touch, do a 295 rear, 265 or 275 front.

Just to clarify because I’m tire incompetent apparently, why would I need to downsize tires with 8.5/10. Fitment?
You'll get other answers, mostly as a "I put X sized tire on Y sized wheel and it fit fine", but there's a fitment where the wheel and tire are perfectly matched, not stretched (undersized tire) or bulging out past the lip of the wheel (oversized tire).

Most charts will show that a 10" wheel has this fitment suggestion (in terms of section width).:

Min 255
Opt 265 or 275
Max 285

and for an 8.5"

Min 225
Opt 235 or 245
Max 255

(opt = optimum)

You can generally get away with a little upsizing, especially if tire has a narrower width, i.e., different manufacturers measure from a slightly differently, so some tires are known wider/narrower (by like a 1/2 size).

Just for reference, the OEM PP wheels are 8.5" in front with a 255 and 9.5" in the rear with a 275. I might do a 295 on a 10", that's pretty close - but there's no way I'd run a 285 on a 8.5", I'd probably stick with a 265.

FWIW, I'm running Nitto 555 G2.

U don't have to. a 305/35 will work fine. just bulge a little and not have a full contact patch

I guess you mean the sidewalls were a little too thick, yeah, the 315/35 is a little taller sidewall, too much sidewall and it starts looking like a truck tire.

The series, the 30/35/40 is a percentage of the width (the 275/285/305) that the widewall is tall, so if you maintain the same sidewall series, like a 35, and go wider, the tire sidewall (and overall height) will also increase.

The 275/40 is a good bit taller than my 285/35:

They would be too meaty...275/40 and 315/35 are quite tall. 275/35 and 305/35 or 315/30 would've been a much better choice in my opinion.

I've got these wheels in 18" on my 03 Cobra. Love them. 275/35r18 and 305/35r18 on 18x9/18x10. Love em

The ride will be better than what you have in either instance; your stock wheels are heavy and prevent the suspension from working most efficiently.

I’m a fan of 275/30/20 and 305/30/20 and would be perfect on a 1”-1.15” lowered car with flush backspaced wheels. Plus the handling would feel a bit more crisp and responsive if you get the right performance summer tire.

No plans to lower for a bit. But when I do I’m glad I know I’ll need lower profile tires. Thank you!
