Would like to know which Ford Mustang running 93 octane would make the most power and would be quicker in the 1/4 mile?.
2018 Ford Mustang GT Auto Factory Stock or 2017 Ford Mustang GT Auto Tuned
Both cars with Performance Package with full weight.
Might be late but I've spoken about this before, cousin has a fully loaded 18 PP auto stock and I have the 17 GT with Lund tune and michellins and I have a quicker 0-60 time and I always beat him from rolls. Will try and find the video

Not sure how much this will help but my buddy and I got lost in Mexico. My mods: intake/e85. His (2017): intake, long tubes, tune, exhaust, etc...

If the 17 auto only has a tune I would put my money on the stock 10r80.

A10 will be quicker.

Put a converter in the A6 and tires and it'll be a race.
Dig or drag race maybe but highway roll the A10 will still walk

The 10R80 seems to be worth about .4 sec in the 1/4th. Between HP and Transmission, you need to find .6-.7 secs worth of mods to be even.

Splitting hairs. Especially with a convertible with the extra weight and lack of chassis stiffening and it's effects on hard launches. The car differences are mostly features and the shared mustang/camaro tranny.
Somedays you just want a convertible and some days you don't. Tough choices.
The big question is whether one prefers the GT350/15-17 Mustang or the 18-19 Euro style Mustang. Either way, you win.

A e85 tuned 18 plus a10 run pretty strong (for n/a) from a roll. Not a lot of weak spots gearing wise outside lower gear traction. Once they wind up they go.

in my opinion a tune only 17 GT auto doesn't stand much of a chance against a 2018 PP A10, I dont care who's tune it is.

This. Sorry, but the 15-17 is stretched to its 435 rating, the 18 underrated at 460. Unless you truly believe large capacity, almost 10% more compression, GT350 like manifold flow, etc... all add up to only 25hp.

And in 2020 you'll be on here hearing about how slow your 2018 is. That's exactly what this site all about. Moving upgrades and marketing new products.
Gotta be faster than the other guy....
Personally I think that mentality is for suckers, but I'm old.

I'm old enough to remember when the 80's performance cars were so awful that we wished for late 60's and 70's power levels again. now a friggin new V6 Honda accord performs better than a stock LS6 Chevelle ever did. I'm fine with performance getting better each year with our new muscle cars. at some point it's going to stop just like it did in 1970

I dont think it will stop for quite awhile. After the anemic 70s-80s we paused in the 300 +/- 100 range for awhile before traction and stability control systems enabled higher levels of power than most could handle without nannies. These same systems saved RWD to a certain extent.

The current frontier is instant torque electric, either all electric or as ICE helper.

Here's my 100% stock 2018 301A GT/A10 with 3.55's (on P Zeros). What does your tune only 2017 GT with A6 run?
